*A comfortable room in a somewhat isolated wing set apart from the reception had been done up. Somehow the idea of them retiring to the room Liam had known since he was a child had disturbed his mother as she'd made the arrangements, though she knew quite well that that particular sanctuary had been razed long ago.
Sorcha yawned as she and Liam wandered hand in hand down the hall and then turned into the room, where a fire blazed in the grate--though it was spring, the nights were still chilly.*

*Liam smiled all the way, still a bit drunk on alcohol, and the fact that he was actually married.*
"I love you. You know that, right?" *He said, once they were in the room.*

"If I didn't, d'ye think I'd've given you the time of day? Much less stood up in frunna me family an' yers an' a holy father an' said as much as I'd be yer wife?"

*He just smiled like an idiot some more and pulled her close, tucking her head beneath his chin.*

*Sorcha hugged him back for a long moment before she pulled away, turning to go and sit on the edge of the bed and take off her shoes, rubbing at her aching feet with a sigh.*
"That's the last time I ever get so dressed up. Those pictures had better turn out or I'll weep."

*He chuckled.*
"Well you looked perfect." *He informed her, as he shucked off his own jacket and hung it over a chair. His waistcoat went the same way.*
"Could you unbutton the cuffs?" *He asked her.*

*She stood and took hold of his wrist, undoing his cufflinks easily before dropping them into her cupped palm.*
"Are...are those...diamonds?" *she asked, glancing at them.*

*He took a closer look at them.*
"Huh. Suppose they are. I didn't really notice."

*She pinched one in each hand and held them out at her fingertips with great delicacy.*
"Where should I put them?" *she asked, suddenly terrified of dropping one and losing it in the darkness.*

*He took them and put them on top of the dresser before moving to a table where a long, thin box was waiting. He held it out to her.*
"Open it."

*Sorcha took the box and opened it. She stared at it in silence for a long time.*
"L-Liam...I--I..."

*He turned a bit pink.* "Is there something wrong?" *He desperately hoped he hadn't picked a necklace that was too gaudy. The necklace in question was an old family piece; he'd forgotten whose it had been originally but it had been a wedding present from one of his ancestors to his new bride.*

"It's beautiful," *she whispered softly.*

*He reached in front of her and fastened the necklace around her throat. He smiled. It looked beautiful.*
"It's nothing on its owner." *He said softly.*

*Her hand came to rest against the cool stones, her fingertips caressing them almost hesitantly.*
"Th--they're for me?"
