"Your son", *she hissed*, "is not quite as powerful as he thinks."
*She sat back down in her chair, her eyes full of malice*
"So where does this leave us?"

"Us?"
*Genghis looked vaguely amused.*
"My son would not have me with you and you would not have me with you, so I see no reason to exert myself to that end. I will seek a different port for that vessel. You apparently no longer wish me to kill you, so I see naught for us but a parting of ways."
*He smirked slightly.*
"Although I assume I will be seeing you again. Eventually."

((The port/vessel line kinda made me gag. Good job.))

*Irene said nothing for a moment. Then she spoke in an almost frighteningly calm voice*
"If you ever attempt to contact me again, I will kill you with your own knife."

*Genghis cracked a small smile.*
"I can think of worse ways to go. Although..."
*He looked to her knowingly.*
"I think we both know that it will not be I that will be contacting you."

*Irene's eyes betrayed no emotion*
"You enjoy mocking me. I suppose there's no harm in that. At this point, words are hardly what I fear."

*Genghis sighed slightly.*
"You seem to insist I am mocking you, but that is not my intention. I am merely stating the fact, that when we meet again, you will have been brought to where I am. I will not have sought you."

"Does it never bother your conscience? The thought of a defenseless woman being ravished? If it happened to your wife or your daughter, would you advise them to lie still and not complain, as you do with me?"

*Genghis shut his eyes in frustration.*
"If it was my wife or daughter, they would understand the customs that govern our way of life. This is how it has been for numerous centuries. And often, it is better to accept it and be mild, for warlords are often spurred on by a temper, both in rage and lust."
Why am I even trying to make you understand? It is beyond you.

"Those may have been the cutoms in your time, but we are in a different world now. One where we at least try to be civilized."
*She sighed*
"Why do I even bother trying to explain?"

I am trying to be civil, you b*tch.
*Genghis gave a curt nod.*
"You are, of course, right. I will leave you to whatever freedom you have left. I hope you make the most of it. My son can be very...determined."
*He offered a shallow bow.*
"Good day then."
*He turned on his heel and left the cafe.*

"Scotch, please."
Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit drinking.

*Leonidas smelled sustenance from a building on the main road. He stepped in, trying to take in the foreign environment. People here seemed to require more clothing than was functional. He rolled his eyes slightly and made his way to the counter.*
"I need supplies. Some bread and cured meat should be fine. Whatever you have on hand. And two wineskins."
*The man behind the counter stared at him dumbly.*
"Now, boy! Now!"

Another warlord. Great.
*Irene tried to make herself inconspicuous, which was hard since she was virtually the only one in the cafe*

*The man scampered off and Leonadis took the opportunity to take in the surroundings. Small for a forum or proper gathering place, but...He forced himself to remember that times had changed. So had women apparently. He noted the woman with a passing interest and gave a bow of acknowledgment.*
