*Nightfall smiled back, or anyway tried to. She felt really bad for lying to him like this. She sighed and looked down again. For some reason the food didn't taste quite as good as usual.*

*Nightfall looked up at him with tears in her eyes, trying to hide her bad conscience.*
"I'm worried about mother. She looks so tired. I think she works too hard, taking care of both the hospital and the army."
*She leaned over the table and whispered.*
"And she is heartbroken. Uncle Haldir, her brother, has gone missing. He went to investigate a moving statue in the Lost City of Ehonile, and he never returned."

"Yes, Nessa informed me of this" he said sadly "I am to see your mother tomorrow morning. I will speak to her, Nessa has agreed to help out at the hospital and I've found a couple people that are willing to help as well."
He took another sip of his wine and looked away "I will also talk to her about taking the army training off of her hands" he said quietly

"You know what would bring the smile back to her face again, uncle R? If you found uncle Haldir alive and well. But she will be glad for the help with the army training. You are strong enough to lead an army, just look at those muscles!"
*She placed her tiny hand on his arm, feeling the muscles in his upper arms.*

Ramses almost blushed, he could feel it below the surface asking to be released, he had been given many compliments over the years, but still when it came to his physical shape, he still enjoyed when somebody noticed.
He got over it quickly though and continued eating "Have their been no search parties yet?"

*Nightfall looked up at him with a smile, noticing him blushing. She gave his arm a gentle caress before releasing him.*
"They have searched his home, his office, and where he usually takes his watch rounds - and nothing. And his canoe is missing. It is locked with a magic lock nobody but he can solve. I think he has gone to investigate Ehonile. And nobody has ever returned from that, except Haldir and Anastasia, after their short trip. Uncle Haldir went back right after that."

"So they have sent no one to Ehonile to search for him?"
His mind was wrought with thought, he knew that he must do more in order to keep his home in tact, more than helping guard the borders when he could, more than sneaking information through the palace.
But would he really begin military training again? Would he really give up his time to search for a man he barely knows?
He knew it was necessary, although he wished it wasn't.

*Nightfall looked up at him as if she knew something, and was unsure of if she should say it or not. She decided to tell him.*
"I am deeply concerned about uncle Haldir, Ramses. He was deeply depressed after returning from Ehonile with Anastasia. I think he was in love with her, and then something happened, or she turned him down or whatever. I went to visit him the day after his return. He only stared into the air, as if nothing mattered anymore. He mumbled about losing first Tearbird then Katya, and that life stinks, and he was tired."
