*Dracula offered to take the pod, his arms outstretched.*
"I will find a way." *He swallowed carefully.*
"Please...I should see it hung in the cellar before it dries."
*Because it would make attaching it much more difficult.*

*Malefica caressed the pod gently, then placed it in Dracula's arms. Her eyes were filled with tears.*
"I hope you do, my love. For the first time in my life... I don't know what to do. I feel so... so... helpless."

"Do not fret." *Dracula assured her, holding the cocoon gently.*
"Things will right themselves eventually."
*He nodded to her and disappeared downstairs.*

*Malefica smiled and looked over at her husband.*
"Thank you," *She whispered and closed her eyes.*
"I hope you're right."
*She drifted off to sleep, exhausted after the childbirth.*

*After seeing child safely secured to the rafters of the cellar, Dracula returned to find her sleeping. That was well enough by him and he picked up his book and sat, trying to return to his studies, but at least close enough should something more be needed.*

*Malefica woke up a little later, not knowing how long she had been resting. She felt a bit strange after the birth. Her body felt tender, and she grimaced in pain when she shifted. She opened her eyes, and noticed her husband sitting there, reading. Her face brightened in a warm smile.*
"Hello, handsome. Is the baby all right?"

*Dracula glanced untroubled to the door.*
"I should think that it is."
*His eyes surveyed her gently.*
"And you?"

*Malefica looked warmly at him, grateful for his concern on her behalf.*
"I must admit that I've felt better. But the pain is slowly dying away. If I just could get a cup of hot water, I think I have some herbs for a tea that can give me my strength back. They are kept in the green pouch on the nigthstand in my bedroom."

"Of course." *Dracula stood and went to the door.*
"I will return shortly."
*He slipped down the hall to her room.*

*Malefica shifted on the couch again, trying to find a better way to rest. She grimaced in pain and sank back. She had to admit that her strength was not fully recovered just yet.*

*Dracula returned with the items she asked for, handing them to her carefully. He winced silently as his shoulder rotated unpleasantly.*
"Is that better?" *He managed.*

*Malefica smiled and thanked him. She made a cup of warm herbal tea, then looked up at her husband with a concerned look on her face, noticing his shoulder.*
"How are you feeling, my dearest?"
*She asked worried, ready to help if he needed her.*

"Pay it no mind." *Dracula answered.* "It is nothing, the pain less that yours. It will heal in time."

*Malefica looked up at him.*
"Is it from when you helped me over to the couch before the baby arrived? Oh, Vladislaus, I'm so sorry! Is there anything I can do to ease your pain?"

"Shh." *Dracula chided dismissively.*
"I have told you, I will mend."
