*A wave of exhaustion went through him once she'd gone, and he shook his head, muttering to himself as he headed back upstairs. He should've slept more. But it had been hard, the night before... He was just awake enough to dress for bed and fall into it before falling asleep *

***ONE WEEK AFTER THE PICNIC OF DOOM***
*Becca steeled herself and knocked on the door. Rain was pouring outside, and so she wore a heavy dark cloak with the hood pulled over her head, but still, she was nearly soaked to the skin--she hadn't wanted to draw attention by taking the carriage, so she'd hailed a cab as far as the lane, and walked the rest of the way to the cottage.*
((So cold so sleepy need bed...))

*Rudolf had been trying to keep busy thanks to being forced to stay indoors by the weather. Unfortunately, there was only so much he could do in the cottage before he'd slowly started slipping into boredom. The knock at the door snapped out of his daze. As he stood to answer, his heart lept...a week had passed.
He opened the door to see the drenched Rebecca*
"Becca! Please get inside before you catch a cold."
*He gently guided her into the living room, closing the door behind them*
"Let me get you a towel to dry off with."

"Thank you," *said Becca with a laugh, taking off the cloak and hanging it near the fire to dry.*

*After disappearing into a hallway for a few moments, he returned with a couple of towels for Rebecca*
"You're always welcome."
*He glanced at the rain outside*
"Why it couldn't have waited until you were indoors..."

"I daresay the clouds do not think of my intentions."

"Well, they should. They should know better than to rain on you."
*Playfully, he stuck one of the towels square on her head*

*Becca squealed and grabbed at the towel, swatting him with it.*

"Ohh, I need to watch out for you...you're a quick one." He laughed.
The other towel he draped across her shoulders*

*Becca grinned and rubbed a towel against her dark curls, which were still dripping silvery drops of rainwater all over her shoulders and the rug.*
"That I am."

*He took her by the arm and started leading her into the living room*
"Here, I've got a fire going that you can warm yourself by."

"You're welcome."
*He waited until she was settled near the fireplace before picking up the thread of the conversation*
"Do you need anything? Maybe something to drink?"
