"A few months..." he murmured, sounding...not doubtful, but not hopeful. An odd in-between.
"Perhaps the opera will happen by then."
But at this point, it sounded like wishful thinking.

"The Managers still send letters to us, they wish us to start casting as soon as possible."

"But...we had auditions! We had singers! Why aren't we rehearsing yet? It's...it's all done!"

"They- they want more, they want second auditions. This is meant to be the opera to revive the opera house, it has to be perfect" he sighed.

"Second auditions! What nonsense!" He said, slamming his fist down and hitting the piano keys, which gave off a discordant bong.
"Beg your pardon." He murmured, though it was hard to tell if he was apologizing to Mozart or the piano.

"Let's just call back those we've all ready auditioned and cast and have them all do something ridiculous for the managers to show they're perfect and get on with it."

A gleam entered his eyes at the suggestion.
"A mock performance."

He leapt to his feet.
"In fact, it doesn't even have to be the opera. We can just make something up for that moment. Improvise."

"That my dear man is my specialty."

He laughed.
"Ah, this will be lovely. And when they ask why it's different, we can say they weren't specific about what the second audition was for."

Mozart laughed, as shrilly as ever "Come, let's send out those letters now."

"Yes!"
He went over to the desk he'd recently arranged with their paperwork (mostly bills), and pulled out several sheets of paper. He'd bought them on a whim when they'd run out of parchment, and had been amazed (and happy) at their cheapness. He handed several to Mozart along with a well and quill.
"Time to set the wheels in motion."

Grabbing the quill he began to write out letters to the actors, to the crew, to the costumers, everyone Ludwig told him to.

Between the two of them, everything that needed to be written was done fairly quickly, since it was mostly writing similar notes over and over again. Form letters
Finally setting down his quill, he picked up the stack of papers.
"Now all we need to do is mail...these..."
He frowned.
"Except you need money for stamps."
