"And I've heard some of the ghastliest excuses for opera singers stop in the middle of their arias at the sound of Wolfie's--Herr Mozart's--laugh, and they've all turned and stared in shock. I assure you, it can be worse."
She finished pinning her hair. "Now then, to the rehearsal room? Apparently you need to hear this laugh for yourself."

Stopping only to scatter some of the sheet music on the ground - as there was a telltale, if faint, imprint of someone having laid on them - she led the way over to Mozart's rehearsal room.
