*Malefica smiled mildly.*
"We did the best we could for you both."
*She said and kissed her daughter's hair. Then she turned to Icarus, giving him a loving smile.*
"Icarus, won't you sit down with us, and have something to eat or drink?"

"Of course. I would have already if my author had been a bit more on the ball."
*Icarus took his seat, looking at the food, but merely raised his glass of wine to his lips.*

*Leetah sat down beside him and smiled.*
"Are you not hungry, my dear?"

*Icarus managed a smile and nibbled at the offering on his plate. He tried to make a good show of it, he knew it was important to her. But this really wasn't his thing. And no. He wasn't hungry. Not for this anyways.*

*Malefica smiled and looked warmly at him. She was so proud of him and her little daughter Eden. She knew this wasn't the way he used to live, that he did this only for her. She felt how much she loved him, and caressed him for a moment, before she turned to Leetah.*
"How are things in Lorien?"

*Leetah's face became serious, and her eyes darkened. She glanced over to the children, not wanting them to hear about this. She sighed.*
"Unfortunately not good. Haldir and I are doing our best to avoid a Civil war, and so far we have succeeded. But Steerpike, who stole my son's rightful place on the throne, is slowly turning into madness. I think his conscience is catching up with him. In the meanwhile, the Lovett woman is imagining she rules the country on her husband's behalf, strutting like a peacock in public, and with a language like a beggar on the streets in private."
*She lowered her voice.*
"And then, there is the hidden threat. The one that my cousin Wild and I are using all our strength to protect our country from. THEY are getting closer each day, and it's becoming harder to force them back. If this continues, I will have to ask of you the protection of "The Black Wand of Hell." And this is worrying me more than I dare to show at home in Lorien."

*Figwit shrugged gracefully.*
"I have nothing to compare it to," *he said.* "But I had no playmates."
*His voice carried a tinge of regret, that he had not been afforded the chance to be a child. Unlike this golden creature before him.*
"Will you sit, Miss Eden, and join us?"

*Eden squirmed, situating herself properly in the chair next to him. She gave him a crooked grin.*
"Must have been hard."
Not that mine were super-cuddly or anything.
"So what about now? I mean, are you happy to be back?"

*Figwit thought about that.*
"It's... a relief, I suppose. To see my homeland at last. I'm not sure happiness is the right word. There's so much I don't know yet."
*He smiled, unable to maintain a serious mien in the face of her... face.*
"But you can't possibly be interested in that."

*Eden shrugged, distinctly unladylike (but still kinda adorable) and glanced up to him.*
"And why not? 'Cause I'm a girl?"

"No," *he said, a smile curling the ends of his mouth.* "Because it's boring, and because I'm not very good at expressing my feelings."

*Eden turned back to her plate, sighing heavily.*
"That's all right. Feelings are stupid anyway."
Make you weak. Least that's what Pops says.

*Figwit frowned, looking down at his own plate.*
"I'm not very good at this. Unless I have something to do, I... What do you like to talk about, Eden?"

Weapons? Warlords? Battles?
*She shrugged her tiny shoulders.*
"Something to do? Like what? What is it that you do?"

"I don't know quite yet. But I have been raised to restore Lorien to its former glory, and so my training has included combat, lore, history, and strategy. I'm still working out exactly what needs to be done, though. I've been away a long time, and I'm still understanding the situation."
