*Philippe nodded.*
"You have no reason to feel regret, his past actions far exceeds any affection you would feel obliged to hold him in."
*He handed her a letter.*
"I have taken the liberty of writing to his solictor. He should contact you in the next few days."

"I can't just forget my entire marriage, though..."
*She sighed as she took the letter*
"But I will move on."
*She slowly read it, nodding before handing it back*
"I...will be very, very relieved when this whole wreck is over with."

"As will I"
*Though he knew matters had been resolved. He smiled and turned back to his paperwork. Perhaps in freeing her from this marriage God would be merciful in helping his own.*

*She glanced down at the crumpled newspaper*
"If you're done with that, may I...?"

*Philippe looked up.*
"What, Oh yes."
*A maid entered.*
"Monsieur Le Comte there are visitors for you."
*The maid glanced nervously at Sorelli before hurrying out. Philippe felt dread fill him.*
"If you will excuse me."
*He stood.*
((Fitting in with Annulment canon.))

"Of course, Philippe."
*She wondered what it could be, but dismissed it as none of her business. She perused the newspaper while he was gone...
Raoul, it seemed, was still missing, and Philippe's mother was still in limbo somewhere in society. Interestingly, someone had claimed--an unsubstantiated rumor--to have seen the Crown Prince of Austria wandering about Paris.
Sorelli shook her head*
Oh, the gossip people will create simply to draw attention to themselves...

*Her mind had wandered in the interim, but when Philippe returned she came to back to earth. She frowned at his expression*
"Of course. Is everything all right?"

*Philippe frowned and sat down.*
"My Aunt has returns. She suggests that with your presense here, I stand no chance of regaining my wife. Who, I might aid wishes to have an annulment."
*He sighed.*
"If there is a chance with Rebecca, I have to do what it takes to have it."

*There was no hiding the sting that his words caused. For a split second, she could feel herself starting to choke up, but she quickly shoved that feeling away. She took a deep breath, slowly letting it out*
"If that's what you feel is best." She answered, surprised that her voice had come out so steady when inside she could feel something break.

"I am sure the Operahouse will find somewhere for you to leave. I shall write to them if necessary. But-"
*He shook his head.*
"I cannot do this with you here."

*She kept her expression blank, though on the inside she was anything but calm*
"That's all right. I'm certain I can stay at the Bricusse estate. I'll...I'll only return to the opera to collect my things from the dressing room."
*Not that she cared about her late husband's fortune all that much, but nobody had to assume she'd be destitute simply because Lawrence was dead.*

"Good. That is good."
*He glanced distractedly out of the window, his mind far away from the situation.*
"And now, I have to go."

*She nodded, getting unsteadily to her feet, the forgotten newspaper still clutched in one hand*
"I should...prepare, shouldn't I? They'll wonder what has happened to me at the estate..."
*She said it all mechanically, her eyes pleading with Philippe for something...not even anything in particular. Simply something*

"Yes, my staff will help you all they can."
*He turned back to her his eyes very sad. Not for love lost but to where her circumstances had led her.*
"I am sorry Sorelli."
