*Leetah looked up at him, sadly. It was true that her life had just started, but for Leetah the future was not bright. King Orduag was threatening to make her life a living hell. She preferred Arwen*
"For me, there is no future here... not in this life, not in the next. That was the price I had to pay to become a healer... Arwen is my only way out of here.... my only way to at last find peace with myself...." *she whispered*

*Horror crept into Aragorn's eyes. The girl was far too young to have such dismal certainities. He sighed, trying to smile.*
"No. You cannot know such things, not yet. The immortality of your people...there is still so much time for change. You cannot give up so easily. I don't believe that your spirit would go so quietly into darkness."
*His smile widened.*
"Not if Arwen truly does dwell in you. She would never be born again into any other than the most willful of your kind. I am certain that her father would agree."
*He laughed softly, thinking of how angry Elrond had been. Was he still?*

*Leetah got another vision. Steerpike's hands on her throat, strangling her... Her body fighting to get air.... Steerpike trying to make her death look like an accident... But she knew it wasn't. Then a memory. The captivity in Loke's camp. Mr. Hyde trying to get information about the grail. The battle of wits she had with him... She smiled.*
"I am not one to give up easily, mylord. But a dark destiny is the one that awaits me. It will take courage and a will to fight to survive. As a matter of fact, Arwen has adviced me on how to survive until now..."
*She looked at him again with humor in her eyes.*
"Elrond is still angry with you."

*Aragorn's eyes darkened in confusion.*
"What is it? What has happened?"
*For the time being, he would let the Elrond comment lie.*

*She looked up at him and blushed. She did not understand her visions of the furious Elrond. All she could do, was telling him what Elrond had just said...*
"He says it is your fault.... that Arwen refuse to die.... That she still lives in me... because of you."
*She blushed and lowered her eyes.*
"I don't understand why he would say that."

I'm certain there is a reason...
*He stepped forward, taking her gently by the shoulders, as if to steady her.*
"And he...he is part of this dark destiny? Or he knows of it?"
*It seemed too soon. There were rumors of course, that Sauron's forces were on the move, but...here? Now? Was this not ages past?*

*She furrowed her eyebrows, trying to think about what Elrond had said.*
"He knows of it. And is a part of my dark destiny. The rumors about Sauron are true. And somehow, this can explain the corruption of our king... The ring he is wearing..."

*He frowned, this was getting worse and worse. Perhaps he should have never come. Or perhaps he had he own part to play.*
"This fate of yours, what is it?"

*Leetah looked up at him sadly. She felt she had done anything wrong.*
"Forgive me, mylord." *she said and bowed her head.* "I should never have mentioned it. You have enough problems as it is...."
*The pain in her heart became unbearable, and with tears welling up her eyes she turned around and ran back to her treehouse.*

*Aragorn stood for a moment in disbelief. After a brief inner debate he rolled his eyes, sighed and ran after her.*
((To the house?))

*********NIGHT BY THE RIVERSIDE************
*Leetah snuck down to the river. She had everything she needed for a journy packed in a sack, and she was wearing a cloak over her dress. She looked around, to see if Aragorn was there.*

*Soundlessly, Aragorn stepped from behind the trunk of a large tree. He whispered softly.*
"My lady..."

*Leetah bowed galantly. Something told her this was a man to respect.*
"Where are you taking me, mylord?" *she asked*

*He offered her his hand.*
"Just trust me. It is better that you not know until we are there. It will make us harder to track."

*Leetah gave him her hand. It would be an insult not to trust him.*
"Forgive me, mylord. My captivity in Loke's camp taught me to be careful. Do you think they will look for us?"
