*She smiled and repeated the name, looking at the little baby boy.* "And what about Johanna, for the girl?"

Johanna was the baby's name. Pretty little Johanna.
Pretty as a rosebud.
Pretty as her mother!
*He smiled at Aimee*
"That sounds perfect."

((*facepalm* Honestly, I was askin' fer it.))
"Alain et Johanna." *She murmured, gazing down at them. She smiled briefly up at Marius before the babies began fussing again. Unable to explain why, she knew that they wanted food... and that was kind of awkward, with Marius in the room. She turned vaguely pink.*

((Yes you were. )) "Alain et Johanna." He repeated. "Pontmercy." There was a huge grin on his face now. New Pontmercys in the house, born in the house as previous generations had been. His parents would be over the moon with the news...if only they responded to his letters. His smile slipped a bit, but his expression changed to puzzled when he glanced at Aimee* "Something the matter, ma cherie?"

*How odd, she thought, that her children should be born into this world. Her mother had been born to crooks and her father illegitimately to an immigrant actor and his mistress. Here were her children to the Pontmercy house, a house directly traceable to before medieval times, when a year ago anyone would have guessed she'd marry a military man or someone else of her own class.*
"They're hungry." *She said softly, laughing a trifle nervously.*
((House as in Romeo and Juliette usage: House of Montague, House of Capulet, etc.))

"Oh...er, yes. I can go, if you want."
*For some reason he couldn't fathom, it had him flustered*

*She chuckled.*
"I'll call you back in when it's safe, cher." *She teased.*

*His face was faintly flushed as he nodded, placing a kiss on her forehead*
"I'll be nearby. Wild horses couldn't make me go far from here."
*Still a bit flustered, he quietly exited the room*

*Aimee smiled vaguely as he left. For the first time since before her mother had died, she felt truly safe... and that was a beautiful feeling. After some maneuvering, she managed to feed both babies (and simultaneously, at that) until they were both full and drowsy. She called Marius's name softly, not wanting to startle them or leave them there to go get him.*

*Almost hesitantly, he poked his head back into the room*
"Did you call? It was faint, but I was certain I heard..."

"All clear." *She said, smiling softly. It was almost funny, the way she could tell he'd been straining to hear her. Nobody else would have heard, but he'd accustomed himself to her silences and soft manner of speaking.*
"They're full now... and sleepy." *Food always made babies sleepy; she knew that much from when Alexei had been little. Little Alain yawned loudly as possible for an infant, and his twin yawned at a conspicuously softer volume, snuggling toward the warmth of her mother. Alain squirmed and Aimee smiled at both infants.*
((I'm gonna assume that they changed the sheets while she was feverish. Cause afterbirth is... ew.))

((Eww. Yes. Changed sheets))
*Now that it was 'safe', Marius wasted no time in returning to Aimee's side. His smile from earlier had returned*
"I'd say so, with a yawn like that."
*He lightly touched Aimee's cheek*
"How are you, my love?"

*She smiled up at him, patting the spot on the bed next to her.*
"I'm happy, Marius... so happy." *She said genuinely.*

*He took the offered seat, one arm going around her shoulders once he'd settled next to her*
"And you've made me just as happy. I have everything I could ever want, now."

*She laughed softly and leaned into Marius.*
"And I think someone's already sick of his mother." *She said, looking pointedly at Alain, who was squirming again. She tilted him towards Marius.* "Would you like to hold him?" *She asked softly.*
