James was pacing, he had walked everywhere in the estate that Mrs. Danvers wasn't, or there wasn't wedding planners.
And there was A LOT of wedding planners.
He didn't feel left out, he chose to be left out, but- he missed Megan. He had barely got a glimpse of her in the preceeding days and it pained him.
But he choce to be left out.
But he didn't want to be alone.

"And if we cross the paper lantern lines like this..."
Megan glanced up.
"James!"
She dropped the plans and ran to him.

His heart leaped as Megan came flying in to his arms "Darling!" He twirled her around with a kiss.

She was glowing.
Like an angel.
He littered her face with tiny kisses and sickenly cute 'mwah' sounds. "I can tell sweetheart you're smiling like I've never seen you smile-" he put his hands on her hips and rocked her side to side "-and you've put on a little weight, wonderful!"

"And then everything will be perfect..."

"Perfectly Marvelous" he took her hand suddenly and pulled her in to a quick step and danced around the rolling eyes of the wedding planners.
They'd seen it a million times.
It was cute the first time, but you know, after a while...

Megan leaned closely against him and managed to dance with her eyes closed.

She's amazing
James spun Megan around and tipped her kissing her neck sweetly before pulling her up. "Dear, can we go somewhere quiet?"

"I'd love to."

He skillfully spun her out of the room, sticking his tongue out at the wedding planners as they went through the door.
They found themselves in the library.
"What a beautiful estate."

"I know. Micaela says Maxim's family's been living here for generations."

"Oh yes, he loves to tell the stories. I know he doesn't seem like much of a talker, but you get a drink in the old boy and he opens up like Grandmums cabinets at Christmas."

"I've heard it's the same way when he gets angry. He doesn't that often, but when he does..."

"It's terrifying" James laughed "because he's so pretty" he wasn't even ashamed to say it. He and Maxim had been friends long enough "The man can't make a scary face, even when he's angry, but still, it's like watching a beautiful dove... turn in to a rat, with a dove head."
He shook his head "He's a good man, I trust him."
