*Micaela wandered the halls aimlessly, happy to be there. She assumed at some point she'd encounter Mrs. Danvers and be able to tell her that Scarlett was coming.*

Mrs Danvers carefully avoided That Girl's gaze as she walked by.

*Micaela walked over to Mrs. Danvers as she saw her pass.*
"Mrs. Danvers, is there any way you could have a room made up?"
((She should think that Micaela wants a seperate bedroom from Maxim or something.))

"Are there conflicts between you and Mr de Winter that need to be addressed?" asked Mrs Danvers, a tiny degree of cruel hope creeping into her voice.

*Micaela let out a laugh, somewhat derisive.*
"Of course not, whatever would give you that idea? I need a room made up for my goddaughter Scarlett, who's visiting in a week to help me organize the horses that are coming in from my old home."

"Oh."
Her lip curled slightly.

"Anyhow, can you have a room ready by then? I thought I'd give you fair warning."

"I shall get the staff on it."
She tilted her head back slightly.
"Horses, you said?"

"Yes, horses. My family owned a very successful horse farm in Ireland, and my cousin Patrick, who recently took over in light of my father's death, has picked me out the cream of the crop for Manderley. Considering all the de Winter horses were at the local hunt club and there was that lovely stable going to waste, I wrote him and asked him for some jumpers and hunters." *She said.*

"Mrs de Winter enjoyed riding," said Mrs Danvers, staring straight at Micaela. "She was painted on horseback once. It's hanging in the National Gallery."

"I grew up riding." *She said simply.* "Ireland's got some of the best horse country in the world--I can hunt, jump, steeple, and show dressage, but I far prefer steeple to anything else. I won a few awards back home in the Nationals." *She said.*

"Mrs de Winter did not feel the need to parade herself vulgarly for prizes."

"Just as I don't feel the need to advertise myself through paintings--I prefer to let my abilities, as well as my horses, as you will soon discover, speak for themselves. See to it that Scarlett is in the blue room, in the east wing. The one with the blue canopy bed." *She said, turning to go.*

*Micaela sat in one of the many bathrooms one morning, sobbing inconsolably.*
