"Yes, quite. I look like I'm Marianne, walked right out of Sense and Sensibility. Minus the sprained ankle, of course." *She said. Drowned probably wasn't a good thing to mention.* "Anyhow, I do hope I won't interrupt things too much here. You all seem to be running the house quite smoothly." *She looked around as she said this, quite obviously feeling as if she belonged here already--although somehow, coming from her mouth, it didn't seem so much a gaudy claim of ownership as a delicate statement that she was comfortable here.*

Mrs Danvers took a step backward with the obligatory bow of the head, never taking her eyes off of her new mistress.

*And judging by her stance, that was exactly what she was. Not in an overbearing or obvious way, but there was a clear distinction of rank there that Micaela recognized and acknowledged.*

*Seemingly oblivious to the tension between Mrs. Danvers and Micaela, Maxim smiled.*
"It's wonderful to be home- I did miss Manderley very much. Now, come along, darling, I'l show you to our room- I know you must be exhausted."

"I was only sleeping 'til it started raining, so yes, I'm a little sleepy."

**TWO BABIES A NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE AND A HELL OF A TIME LATER**
*Micaela finally pulled up in the car somewhere around midnight (they'd missed the first train and had been forced to take one three hours later and then the boat had had a mechanical problem). She opened the back of the car to wake Liam up and grab Ellie. She hitched Liam onto one hip and carried Ellie with the free arm, letting Robert get the bags and someone else pull the car back around.*
*Liam was asleep on his mother's shoulder within seconds and she wasn't any happier for the dead-weight he supplied. Ellie fussed in the other arm and Micaela groaned, carrying them both in and trying to decide who she should put to bed first.*
