((Of course she does. She also likes boys with a healthy appetite.))
*Brandi gave him a brief ‘and why wouldn’t it be?’ look and wrapped her arm around his waist.*
“Of course it is. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.”
*She glanced at Jeremy making sure that he was a good enough distance from them for her to whisper privately, for Cry-Baby’s sake. She leaned up to his ear, pressing her lips against it warmly.*
“And I missed having you in my bed so much…I might ask you for some overtime later. You’ll need your strength.”
*Pulling up a stool close to him, she glanced back to Jeremy, raising her voice.*
“Got one of those for me?”
*Rubbing her head on Cry-Baby’s shoulder, she looked up to him with a slightly pout, but spoke honestly and a quieter.*
“I’m sorry that I didn’t make it home last night. I’m afraid I’m a terrible lightweight.”

*He put a finger beneath her chin and tilted her head up so that their eyes met.*
"And what sorrows were you drownin', then?"

*Brandi's eyes got lost in his for a moment.*
I was worried you wouldn't come home. Or come home in lots of boxes.
*Her lips quivered.*
"I...there's a friend of mine. She's going through a hard time right now. It makes me feel helpless. I hate that. Feeling helpless, I mean."
*She lowered her gaze. At least it was the truth. Part of it.*
"It was silly, but it helped me forget for a little while."

*Cry-Baby folded her in his arms.*
"Hey. 'Sokay. Glad it helped. Anything I can do?"

*Jeremy finishes plating her food as he watches the two of them. He slides it over to Brandi with a smile and starts preparing his own. It was good to see her all snuggley and obviously in love. It wasn't good to see her lying though he understood why. Things would get suddenly very awkward if Cry Baby knew that he had a connection to War.*
"Anything else I can get ya'll?"

*Brandi nuzzled against him again.*
"Just you being here makes everything so much better."
*She looked up to Jeremy and shook her head.*
"Thanks."
*She started into her breakfast a bit slowly, stomach unsure still, but it was excellent. She was all smiles. Twisting her face up to his, she heard the words fall out of her mouth before she realized them.*
"How have things been? Did your day go well?"
*She immediately regretted it, but perhaps it was some deep seeded need for him to be just as guilty as she was when it came to not telling the whole truth.*

((Ooh, passive-aggressive drama! I like!))
*Cry-baby chewed and swallowed a bite of the excellent omelet before answering.*
"Day went fine," *he said calmly.* The night's what's got me confused. "Went out for a ride."

((*bows* Thank you, thank you.))
*Trying to rectify her mistake, Brandi didn't press the issue. She smiled and swallowed back the urge to say 'well I'm glad you made it back in one piece'. Instead, she smiled and stroked his thigh gently beneath the bar.*
"Sounds nice. Did it give you time to think about working on music for the inn?"

*This was firmer territory. He didn't have to think about staring down War, or the mixed reception he got. It confused him, and he didn't like that feeling. It lacked control.*
"Sure," *he said in answer to her question.* "I got all kinds of music. Well, rock n' roll, anyway. But it'd be kickin' to have a whole band, you know?"

*Brandi's eyes sparkled for a moment as she looked up to him. With a mischievous grin, she shrugged as if musing an idle thought.*
"I don't suppose that you'll be wanting to sing something, something hillbilly, something colored...would you? 'Cause I happen to play a bit of sax and well..."
*She glanced briefly at Jeremy, brow arched knowingly before looking up to Cry-baby.*
"I could probably dig you up a bass player. If you were interested."

*Jeremy chuckled.*
"Only if you like your bass big, fat and standing up. Never could get into the bass guitar."
*Pouring liquid butter and a light syrup over his waffles, Jeremy dug in.*

*Brandi laughed lightly and nuzzled against Cry-Baby's shoulder as she looked to Jeremy.*
"Of course, silly. That's what I meant."
*Looking up adoringly to Cry-Baby for a moment, she smiled.*
"Guess you never saw Baby perform at Turkey Point. He's got a great hillbilly sound."
*She turned her smile on Jeremy.*
"And last I heard used a stand-up bass. Don't you?"
*She turned back to Cry-Baby questioningly.*

((LOL at "colored." You rock.))
*Cry-baby stared at her for a moment, his fancy captured by the thought of his girl wailin' on the sax. He shook his head, and his smile reached his mouth.*
"Wouldn't say no. To either. Happen to like a big fat bass; long as it's loud, don't care where it comes from."

*Brandi looked between the two of them with a growing grin.*
"So is it a plan then? What else would you need?"

((So didn't see the letter b in "Happen to like a big fat bass."))
"I think I might be able to lay my hands on one if I'm needed." and the skill to play it better
*Reaching under the counter Jeremy produced three ice cold glass bottles of coca-cola. He placed one by each plate.*
"Any plans on a singer?"
