Of course I am! *She kissed Scarlett and continued her circuit of the room.*

"Okay, if you want her to learn to talk that way," he teased.

*She rolled her eyes.* You can't talk to a baby like they're an adult, you have to talk to them with baby talk. They're too little and precious and innocent for normalspeak. I'n't dat right, sweetums? *She cooed at Scarlett, who gave a gurgly giggle.*

"How about something in between? Use a tone, but actually pronounce the words."

Nooooooo! *She laughed.* Well, I talk to them like they're babies, and you talk to them like they're adults, so maybe that'll create a happy medium.

"I don't talk to them like they're adults. I wasn't really talking to them just then." Penn yawned. He smiled and to prove a point said, "Sleepy, kiddo? Yeah. So is Papa, and it's all your fault."

*She smiled, dancing over to where Fitz stood with Scarlett giggling all the way.* Awww, he can't help it. *She kissed little Penn on the tip of his nose.*

"I know that. He probably has a sense of humor." He kissed Scarlett's forehead.
((Does Penn have a sense of humor? What a stupid question!))

(( ;D ))
Most definitely. *She smiled and leaned forward to kiss Fitz when Scarlett burst into tears again. With a sigh, she moved off, rocking her gently.*

He laughed. "I guess she's one of those kids who don't like when people kiss."

"Maybe you should sing to her," he suggested.

*She sighed.* If I had any kind of voice, I would. But I sound like a dying buffalo. *Scarlett refused to stop crying.* Oh, okay, okay! Fine.
I see the moon And the moon sees me Way at the top of the coconut trees. Please let the light that shines on me Shine on the ones I love. Over then mountains, over the sea. That's where my heart is longing to be. Please let the light that shines on me Shine on the ones I love.
*Naturally, her voice was absolutely amazing and Scarlett settled down at once.*
((Totally. Wrong. Lyrics. I know. But that's how I remember them, dangit! ;D ))

He laughed quietly. "A dying buffalo, you say? I really must listen to one of those."

Yes, I know, it's a fascinating sound, isn't it? I guess I'm more of a dying cat. *She kissed the top of Scarlett's head and rocked her for a few more minutes, until the baby's eyes drooped closed and she snored snuffily. She smiled and took her into the nursery, gently placing her in the adorable little crib.*
