Hallie walked into the shop, her wallet stuffed with money. The shop's sign bosted that it sold rare books, and rare books were just what Hallie was craving. She smiled and began to browse.

*Aziraphale looked up from behind the counter when he heard the bell. Ahd he'd so hoped that there wouldn't be any customers today... Nonetheless, he smiled at the girl when she entered the shop. He liked the looks of her.*
"Good afternoon, miss!"

Hallie smiled at the man. "Good afternoon." She wondered briefly why he was so familiar, and then it hit her. He was obviously British, he seemed intelligent, and he was setting her gaydar off like nothing else.
Oh shit.
She kept her smile. "I was just going to look around and see if there was anything I might like."

"Mhm, yes, well, feel free to look around and ask if you need any help. Some of the volumes are quite expensive and delicaite, and some aren't for sale. It's quite disorganized."

She laughed. "Sounds like most of my house. Don't worry, I'll be very careful." She began searching the shelves for an Oscar Wilde first edition. A few minutes later, a grin spread over her face. "Sir, may I buy this?" she asked, pointing to a copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray.

*The angel wrung his hands, slightly distressed. He didn't remember putting that on the shelf to be sold.*
"I'm terribly sorry, miss, but that's part of my private collection. It must have been put out here by mistake..."

Her face fell. "Oh," she said quietly. "Okay."
She looked rather pathetic, as if this had been some small thing that would have brought some light into her miserable, pitiful existance. And a small, slightly manipulative part of her knew it, even though the feeling was genuine.

*He held his hand out for the book.*
"I'm awfully sorry," *he said with a slight frown.* "I know I have other copies of that particular book, if you care to look a bit longer."
*He couldn't help but be concerned for her, getting the feeling that there was something else the matter.*
"Are you all right, my dear?"

She smiled sadly. "I'm fine. You probably don't feel like hearing my life's story. I'll just look for that book..."

"Nonsense. If something's troubling you, I don't mind listening. Then again, if you don't want to talk, I completely understand."
*His smile was gentle, and, being an angel, he radiated peace and comfort.*
"I'll make tea," *he offered.*

She smiled warmly. "Okay. Thank you very much, sir."

"Please," *He said with a smile.* "It's Aziraphale. Just a moment."
*He disappeared into the back room for a moment, and returned impossibly soon with two cups of steaming hot tea.*
"Here you are. You look like you need it."

"Thanks," she said, taking a sip. "Aziraphale, huh? Is that... what is that?"

"My name," *he answered smoothly.*
"Any luck finding the book?"

Hallie nodded and held it up. "I'm Hallie, by the way."
