((Rowan Atkinsons's stand up comes to mind.))
Hmmm. I think she felt that.
*Mondego leaned in and blew into her ear while she was brushing her hair.*

*Sylvia shivered again and looked to Mondego. Or at least in his direction, as she saw nothing. She set her brush down and stood, walking to the bed and trying to shake off the sick feeling in the pit of her stomach.*

*Mondego tried with all his will to knock the hairbrush down. He wanted to see her jump. Just a little.*
*The brush moved to the edge of the table on his second try. Having figured out what to do, he pushed one more time to knock it to the floor before Sylvia could get to the bed.*

*Sylvia jumped at the sound and pulled a knife from the bedside table, brandishing it in front of her as she turned back to see...nothing. Her eyes narrowed.*
"Who's there?"

*Mondego quickly moved behind her and to her bed. He thrus his hand under her pillow and tossed it to the side.*
This is getting fun.
*He quickly moved by her and rubbed his hand across her back.*

*Sylvia turned about wildly.*
"Stop it!"
*Realization came to her and she lowered the blade, speaking sadly.*
"I thought you wanted me to think you a gentleman."

She takes the fun out of it sometimes.
*Mondego walked over to the pillow, picked it up and layed it on the bed. All she saw was a floating pillow. He then walked over to the brush and did the same.*
Well, I suppose I should be a gentleman.
*Mondego grabbed her hand gently and pulled it up to his mouth so he could give it a small kiss.*

*Sylvia couldn't believe it as she saw it happen, but really in the grand scheme of things, what was one more? She fought to keep her hand from trembling in his ghostly grasp.*
"What...what do you want?"

*Mondego moved behind Sylvia and gently massaged her shoulders. He leaned into her as he spoke in a whisper, hoping she could hear.*
"The question isn't about want, it about having time. I have plenty of time to spend with you now."
*Mondego leaned over the other ear.*
"You weren't honest with me and then you killed me. I feel bound to you somehow. Maybe if you had been honest with me, this would have never happened."

*Hearing his voice made her blood run cold. His touch made her queezy. But she stood rigid, not about to submit without a fight.*
"I did not lie to you. I cannot help the fact that you abused my trust. What did you honestly expect?"

Complete submission.
"Nothing more than one-for-one. I expected at most to receive the same in return. I couldn't even have that from you. You had to hide behind your insecurities, your doctor and your knife."

*Sylvia's face hardened.*
"You branded me! Without my consent. Without my knowledge. Did you really just expect me to be all right with that? That is not the way to win a woman's affections."
*She lowered her lashes.*
"Especially when you say it is for remembrance, when it is obviously a mark of ownership."

"A woman's affections? Is that really what you think I was after? Do you remember our first meeting? It didn't take much to get what I was after, although I was hoping for much more. Clearly, you had the potential but you just couldn't deliver. But don't get me wrong, you were perfect with your actions."
*Mondego smiled a little.*
"The brand was remembrance, not ownership. You could have hidden it easily enough. I just don't trust in memory."

It's not easy to hide when my profession requires nudity.
*Sylvia set her jaw.*
"And what were you so looking for that I was not able to provide you with that night? You seemed satisfied enough."

"That night, yes. But you never seemed to take control."
*Mondego wondered why. Why was he even doing all this when it didn't matter now?*
"I was hoping you would control me, to own me. I was hoping you would get that. I have always controlled and was losing my taste for it. I attempted to have you dominate me but you wouldn't only do it when I asked. I was hoping the brand would force your hand. Unfortunately, it forced it the wrong way for me."
"What else can I do? I am forced to live in as a ghost."
