((I guess he's still killed Lucy, though, since Lovett's dead.)) *For some reason, the Bride was about to give her birth name. After a pause, however, she regained her senses* "Kiddo. Beatrix Kiddo. Just a trim, thank you."

He sighed. He had almost thought that it was his wife, and if not her, his daughter.
"Of course, my dear." While cutting her hair, he tried to make conversation. "You look very familiar to me, Miss Kiddo. You wouldn't be from London, would you?"

*The Bride closed her eyes as she thought of Bill* "I've spent some time there. I...ran into a bit of trouble with the law."

"Ah. So you weren't born there, then," he muttered with disappointment. "I ran into some trouble there myself, but I never did anything wrong, really. That is, until I escaped prison. That's a whole other enchilada!"

"I'm sorry," *she said.* "What happened to me could be blamed on any number of people, myself included." *She paused, lost in memory* "There was a young man and his wife..."

"Go on," he said, intrigued by this girl who was so much like his Lucy.

*She sighed* "My husband made a fatal mistake. Never marry a woman if a powerful man desires her. It's disaster for both of you."

Sweeney smiled coldly. "If only you had given that advise to me before I married Lucy. Then perhaps I might still have her and Johanna."

((Uh oh))
*The Bride went cold for a moment, then regained her composure*
"A wife and daughter, perhaps?"

He shut his eyes. "Yes. A man named Judge Turpin wanted my wife, so he had me arrested and then took my daughter as his own."

*The Bride began to feel sick, although she showed no signs of it on her face* "That sounds like him", *she said calmly*

He raised his eyebrows. "You know him, too?"

It's just a coincidence. My father's name was Barker, not Todd. "You're lucky he only had you arrested", *she said, somewhat flatly.* "One bullet to the head would have killed my husband. Instead, he recieved on to the chest..." *She took a breath* "...so that he could watch, while he was dying."

**STILL SWEENEY**
"That bastard!" Sweeney cried, squeezing the chair until his knuckles turned white. "Miss Kiddo, I am so sorry. That is enough to break even the strongest of spirits."
