"Yes..."
*After a moment of hesitation, he let go of her arm*
"Well...I'll just...sit out here for a while, I guess."

"If you like."
"I'm going to bed," *she said, though she still had hours of darkness left, and she hadn't fed that night. There was no way she was going to do that right now.* "Whee! Now we BOTH have frustration!"
"Door's open for whenever."
*It was a a truce, of sorts.*

*It wasn't until some time later that he followed her, closing the door quietly and leaving the light off. After quickly dressing for bed (his vision in the dark was excellent), he slid in beside Renn, fully expecting to be kicked back out again*

*Pretending to be asleep, she only scooted over to the far edge of the bed, so that they weren't touching.*

*He stayed on the opposite side, turned away from her and trying to ignore her presence there, not as far away as his senses told him she was. He didn't sleep, though. Couldn't, not with his thoughts in turmoil and his body aching from what didn't happen*

*Though facing away, she kept her senses tuned on der Tod- she could tell he wasn't sleeping. And it served him right.
Hunger was beginning to gnaw at her, though, but she staunchly ignored it.*

*After an indeterminate amount of time spent lying there staring at the wall across the room, he DID fall asleep, though it was a restless one plagued by all the anxieties of the situation recently passed*

*Though she though it was impossible, Renn ended up asleep as well, only after quite a while of laying there sullenly, hating everything.*

*Sometime quite a bit later, he was snapped awake by a sharp knocking on the bedroom door. Blinking the sleep out of his eyes, he slowly sat up. Who the heck could be doing that?*
"What is it?"
*He sounded a bit more irritated than he'd intended to*

"Uh, it's noon." Came the muffled reply. It was Treszka.
"Jeez, how are you still sleeping?"
*She'd gone through her normal morning routine of practically leaping out of bed and zooming into the kitchen for breakfast, usually something she shouldn't be eating as her mother was asleep and her father didn't think it would adversely effect her since she wasn't entirely human. She'd washed her dishes and gotten dressed when she realized that she hadn't even seen her dad that morning. At all. Which was really weird as he was usually up and about before even she was. Hence, knocking on the door.*

"What?"
*A quick glance at a anachronistic digital clock confirmed that it was five after twelve. Muttering a curse under his breath, he threw off the covers and got out of bed*
"All right...I'm awake, I'll be out in a moment."
"Oh-tay."
*As he got dressed, he distinctly heard a muffled comment from Treszka about Death sleeping in*

*The day went by in much the same manner that it usually did--because of the nature of her father's, er, job, he was actually around the house for quite a bit of time. Even when he was called away, it usually wasn't for very long. Nonetheless, there was a heaviness to the atmosphere of the apartment, and he was being really quiet and all somber.
Sitting in her room, reading a copy of Sin City that she'd managed to sneak into the apartment, she paused and turned to her window, noting that the sun was setting. She smiled. Mom would be awake soon.*

*A few minutes after sunset, Renn emerged from the bedroom, looking pale and testy. She hadn't slept well, and she really needed blood. (She refused to approach der Tod about that though. No, she wasn't being immature, trying to be a martyr. Shut up.) Seeing Treszka, though, she smiled.*
"Hey babes. What're you reading?"

*With a "meep", Treszka tried to hide the cover*
"Er...nothing."
*Through the doorway, she could see her father in the living room, looking as though he were staring at the ceiling.*

((Sue!Renn wouldn't care that she's reading Sin City. You know I'd be like the worst mother ever. I'd let my kid read anything.))
"Don't get too corrupted, Tresz," *she teased with a small, slightly strained laugh.*
*Following her daughters gaze, she saw der Tod and scowled.*
