((I know!))
Fitz's face fell. "The slaves?" he repeated, wrinkling his nose indignantly. "But Papa, slavery's wrong! What gives a man a right to own another man? Didn't God set the Hebrews free from the heathens of Egypt? And were the American slaves not devout Christians? Is a slave not a man and brother?"
((Does Hallie not look through her history book to much? XD))

"Who's been putting such thoughts into your head, boy?"

Fitz blinked. "The Bible and books I've read on it. I found everything by myself at the library."
((So don't look at your girlfriend!))

**BOOTH**
"I'll not have an abolitionist as a son," *John growled.*
"Go into the guest room and do not come out until your mother comes home!"
*John proceeded to pointedly ignore Fitz and play with Annette*

((Because GOD FORBID his politics differ from yours! XD
...Okay, so if my son came in and started justifying the war and President Bush, I'd do worse than John. But that's different.))
Fitz's eyes brimmed with tears. He simply stood there for a moment, wondering what he had done wrong, before running out the front door and slamming it behind him. He made a mad rush for a dark alley nearby. Once he was hidden from view, he slunk to the ground and cried.
