*Kris nodded.* "Totally. NPC's are so easy to spot. They don't have flecks of anything in their eyes, for one. And they have normal hair colors." *She sighed and leaned on a counter, chin in hand.* "I totally don't know what to do with myself, here. It seems so... self-indulgent. I'm way too uptight to enjoy it."

"Hell, all I'm allowed to do is bake things if I wanna live here. Have you seen the plushy couches? So decadent. There's all these rooms outfitted in black lace and crimson velvet. It's hardcore." *She sighed sadly.* "I'm still trying to figure out if the bitching interior design is worth it, though."

"I can't even bake," *Kris pointed out.* "And anyway... I meant the 'verse in general."

"Of course it's self-indulgent. There are no real rules to cause restraint of any kind, aside from only Erik's allowed to kill without permission."
*frowns*
"...and that's you, isn't it?"

*Kris grins.* "That's true!" *But her smile falters.* "I'm too nice to kill without permission. Even as Erik. I'm a bad phantom!"

"Bad phantom. No biscuit!" *chirped the goth girl cheerily, beginning to cut rounds from the rolled out dough, placing them on a baking tray.* "Eeeeh don't worry about it," *she added with a shrug.* "Check out Nadir--he's bisexual and in a flamingly gay relationship with a shorty with a god complex. Canon's negotiable. Don't even get me started on what I've done to Madame Giry, poor creature."

((I totally replied to this. I did. Internetz ated it.))
*Kris frowned.* "Aw, but I wanted a cookie! Or.. whatever you're making. I have no idea; I eat things that come out of boxes with pictures on them so I don't have to guess."
*She stole some batter and tested it. Then her eyes grew wide and she fixed them on Emily with a strange, almost manic gleam.*
"Think I have a chance with Nadir?"

"These are savoury biscuits--baking powder." *she shrugged* "And about a snowball's chance in hell. He tends to go for the weepy-eyed damsels in distress. Doesn't much dig chicks with balls--I think Georgiana scarred him for life. That and he's exclusively banging Alexander right now."

"Oh, I don't have balls," *Kris says with wide-eyed innocence. Faked, of course. She sighs.* "Oh well. D'you think they'd let me watch? Oh wait... I do anyway. Hunh. This is metaphysically complicated, isn't it?"
*She hops up to sit on the counter.*
"D'you notice how unless Norman and a shower are involved, this place has no bathrooms? Or toilets."

"Metaphysically complicated, but morally--not so much. Huh."
*She grinned at the latter comment.*
"Yeah--it's all very Pleasantville. Except where Nadir went to the communal manbaths and I think I made the Giry hurl into a chamberpot, once. Indirectly referred to it, I mean."
*Her brow furrowed.* "I wonder if I can recall the way back to those manbaths. I'm almost done here--then we could go cruising for eye candy. Make some repressed Victorians cry. How about it?"

"Manbaths?" *Kris echoed.* "Yes please! I always wondered about those. Sometimes you get the idea that, you know, Holmes and Watson couldn't have been platonic if turkish baths were involved. But then again, by that count, every man in England or wherever was buggering each other. Hmm."

"It's a conspiracy! Like The Da Vinci Code, only gayer!" *she said gleefully.* "...If that's possible," *she concluded doubtfully.*

*Kris gave Emily a doubtful look. A look that said, Do I want to know this person? Will they contaminate me if I stand too close?*
"Yeah, I... didn't read that. Or see the movie. Or anything."

"Me neither. But it's like Harry Potter or the Princess Bride--after a point it's so ingrained you FEEL like you've read it."

*Kris exhaled in a sigh of immense relief.*
"Oh, yeah, that. Except I have read Harry Potter and Princess Bride... Anyway, yes. Hooray for the hoyay!"
