*BOOM. And then, silence. Sarah blinked. She hadn't been vaporized, thank goodness, though her ears were ringing.
She blinked at the room in confusion. It was her room at the inn, but it looked as though it had gotten a make-over from a set designer from the original Star Trek series. Then, of course, there was Captain Kirk standing over--*
Captain Kirk?!
*Sarah's one reaction was to faint*

*Kirk sighed. Why was this always happening to him? Still--it was nice to be reassured of one's effect.
He caught her, and laid her down gently on the bed. But he remained at her side, cradling her with one arm and with the other, slapping her cheeks lightly in the approved Starfleet method of waking up fainted girls.*

*After the appropriate number of slaps (one on each cheek) Sarah's eyes fluttered open and she found herself staring straight into the eyes of Kirk. Her Trekkie side was doing cartwheels and handstands as she slowly sat up, trying not to show any fangirlishness. It was a near thing*
"Oh, so sorry. I got zapped here and I guess the trip was too much for me."
Holy crap, what a lame thing to say.

*Kirk smiled soothingly.*
"Transporters can do that," *he said.* "In certain cases. You'll get used to it."
((I'm still trying to decide if Sarah Anne's created a backstory for them or not.))

((She hasn't. She got hit on the fly with this )) Zomg Captain Kirk lolololol.*She could have slapped herself for thinking like such a stupid. Out loud, she said:* "It's weird. I don't even remember getting on a transporter." That would be cool, though.

((Well, I mean, whether the "magic" has given him a reason for being there or if he's suddenly just there. Has his mind been "primed" to be with her, because she made herself a "boyfriend"?))
*Kirk laughed gently.*
"Well, if you were 'zapped' here, you must have been beamed."
*He smiled charmingly.*
"Is there... somewhere you'd rather be?"

((Ah! Maybe only halfway--like the spell didn't completely work right because it rebounded off a mirror XD))
*She pretended to think about his question, though she already had the answer to that*
"Not at the moment, no. I can stay and chat for a while."

"Good," *he said softly, as if with deeper meaning.* "Your company would be a significant loss."

*Sarah blushed a bit, and tried to say something witty but instead wound up giggling*
"I bet you say that to all the girls."

*Kirk's eyes crinkled merrily.*
"Not all of them. I do have... standards."

*Damn, the man was hot. And cute. It made her head spin*
"I bet you meet the most interesting people--and ladies--being in Starfleet."

*He lowered his eyes demurely.*
"All the better to know interesting when I see it."

*She felt herself blushing. Guh. Always with the blushing*
"Am I interesting enough?"

"Fascinating," *he said.* "For instance... I have no idea how I got here."

*Sarah looked around the room, wondering just where they both were exactly*
"That makes two of us. Oh, I'm Sarah, by the way."
