"Of course. They're always kind to me," *she said.*
"Mama wouldn't ever be anything otherwise," *she assured him.*

*Julian nodded, fighting his urge to steal her away. That plan had never worked for Mother.*
"Then...you are happy?"

"Yes. No. I don't know."
*She sighed.*
"I don't like Norrington. There's no reason why, but I don't. And I miss living with you and Daddy."

"We miss you too."
*Julian squeezed her hand gently.*
"And Norrington...I am not sure what kind of man he is."

((I don't mind. Could add to drama. And drama's always cool.))
"He seems nice enough..." *she said unenthusiastically.*

((Fine by me, but don't expect Julian to take it well.))
*Julian arched a brow.*
"But you would not stay with him, given the choice of having your mother live in the house on the lake instead?"

"Exactly."
*She shrugged.*
"But mama doesn't want to live in the house on the lake. I have to stay with her until after she gets married- Then I choose, I guess."

*Julian's lips tightened but he managed a nod.*
"I could always take you out if you wanted, just for the evening. Surely that wouldn't be too wicked of me."

((Cool cool))
James had woken up suddenly and couldn't get back to sleep, he decided to go to the kitchen and get something to drink when he heard talking coming from the room Pina was in. He stopped and looked through the magically always there crack in the door. He noticed a strange looking man talking to Pina, they seemed to know each other.

"I'd like tha-"
*Her eyes narrowed as she glanced toward the door.*
"Do you hear something?" *she asked, her voice barely audible.*

*Julian's body went rigid as his eyes shifted to the door. He was still, weighing the options. If it was Megan, or perhaps her beau, he could always use the cruel tongue of his mother. But this was not the Opera. There was no sure footing or trapdoors to use to one's advantage. And he figure that either way, now was probably not the best time to kill someone in cold blood in front of Pina. Especially if that someone was her mother. He turned his gaze to meet Pina's, giving her a knowing look that suggested he too knew they weren't alone. After a moment he spoke softly.*
"Perhaps it is just the wind."
*He stood, gathering her in his arms deftly and making his way back towards the window. They could talk more outside. He whispered privately.*
"Let us see if we can find somewhere more private, princess."

*She nodded silently, holding on to him with complete trust. Beicarried was a bit more awkward, now that she'd grown a bit, but it didn't seem to matter. As Julian moved she kept her eye on the door for any hint of movement.*

*Julian took her to the window, setting her on the sill, realizing that they could not fit through it together. He gestured that she might step out onto the ledge.*
"Where should we go?" *he whispered*

*Pina slid the window open slowly, trying not to make too much noise. Carefully, she stepped out onto the the narrow ledge, careful not to look down at the cobbled street below*
"It doesn't matter," *she whispered.* "They won't be able to find us."
*She glanced back into the room for a moment, then remembered something.*
"Get my veil- it's right by the bed."
