James sighed and looked in to her eyes "You swear it?" Because if you didn't I could never be whole again although he didn't say it, his eyes spoke the words he couldn't say.

Of course he did, he's an admiral, all admirals gotta have a knife, a pretty one with a pearly handle! He leaned down to his boot and pulled out a blade and handed it to her. He wasn't sure why she wanted it, but he wouldn't question her.

Megan pulled a lock of her hair loose and used the knife to cut off a small section. She then set it aside, reached under her skirt, pulled a ribbon from her garter, and tied it around the piece of hair.
"For you. A little token."

He held the hair in his hand carefully "I'll guard it with my life" he kissed it and placed it in a small box next to the bottle of rum.

James smiled and spun around, he was suddenly holding her and kissing her, as in a bad romance. He let her go to breathe and gave a sly look.

"I always leave the best for last" he straighted her up and made sure her hair was straight, even though he was a man, his sense for style was on the level. "You know-" he sucked in a large bit of air and released it "when that door closes and you're on the other side..." he touched her shoulder, he couldn't say anymore.
