*Brandi pried the lid off the black and stuck in two fingers, then smeared them across her cheeks like war paint with a mischievous grin.*
"I never stopped. Just didn't get good grades for it anymore."
*She dunked both hands in the thick paint and pressed them to the canvas.*

"Nuwanda!" *she cried, pointing to Brandi's cheeks and not really caring if anyone got the reference. She swiped some of the red onto her face, making it look like some kind of archaic symbol.*
"What's the sign from Red Dragon? A box with a line through it?" *she managed a close approximation of it on one of her cheeks.*
"Eeeeeviiiil!" *she cackled.*

*Brandi laughed hard and slid her hands across the canvas.*
"Man, I was giggling so hard when I saw that symbol on the Taipei tiles on my computer. I was all 'naked Ralph Fiennes!' And that was before the 'verse, you know? Now it would only be worse."

"Worse...or better?" *asked Emily with a wink, smacking her red hands on the canvas and spraying them both with droplets of paint.*

*Brandi scrunched her nose as paint hit her face. Then she laughed and smacked her hands on the canvas.*
"Well...better of course. Just not in the was that I think Thomas Harris would appreciate."
*She leaned back to survey the progress.*
"You still doing the goth thing? 'Cause this would be perfect for it."

"Haha, not really. I like it, but the effort was huge and I'm not that great with makeup. I've still got the attitude, though."
*she rubbed her fingers together.*
"This is really dark red. It's kinda weird. Nice, though."

*Brandi nodded.*
"Makes you look all Carrie-esque. Man. I am so ready for Halloween. You could totally pull off the corn syrup-pig's blood thing. We should have a party."
*Her eyes drifted off at the prospect of Halloween-y fun.*

"Emily gasped and clapped her hands over her mouth, giving her the unfortunate illusion of having just fed on several gruesome corpses.*
"Awesome!" *she squealed.*

*Brandi giggled. A lot.*
"Oh my...you're just trying to make me think zombie. I do not need the help!"
*Taking up a new handful of paint she smeared it mercilessly across the canvas.*
"Undead unite!"

"BRAAAAINS!" *she drawled, picking up the can of red and dashing a bit of it at the canvas, heaving most of it down the front of her shirt by accident.*
"Ahhh I didn't like this shirt anyway," *she said with a shrug.*

*Brandi laughed and scooped a mass of paint from the shirt, smearing it between her hands with a delightful smush.*
"Good thing too. And since you'll have to bathe anyways..."
*She ran her hands through Emily hair, the viscous liquid gelling it in a disheveled manner. She looked most pleased with the results, grinning mercilessly.*
"Muhuhahaha! Perfect. No you're totally ready to go recruit a zombie hoard."

*Emily snorted, trying to duck at first, then giving up as she inevitably got paint in her hair anyway.*
"Lady in reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed..." *she crooned, terribly off key.*
*she spiked some of her hair into a little mohawk.*
"Now I'm totally bad ass."
*Between the hair and the mass of crimson smears and the weird symbols drawn on her skin and the gleeful glint in her eye, she kind of DID look like some elemental spirit of dischordant death come to wreak havoc.*

*Brandi chuckled.*
"Oh don't even get started with that. Next thing you know I'll be bringing in Patrick Bateman and he'll be running down the halls of the Opera in nothing but his sneakers wielding a chainsaw. Besides..."
*She turned dutifully back to the canvas, working a small detail meticulously.*
"I try to only have one serial killer at a time."
*She looked back to Emily with a grin.*
"But it is tempting."

*Emily snickered.*
"Bale's wife said that's her favourite scene of his. And I think we both know why..."
*She cocked her head to one side.*
"You're too paintless."
*She flicked her fingers lightly at her, dotting her with paint.*

*Brandi giggled and nodded.*
"Now that is a crime."
*She dunked one hand in black and the other in red, holding them up for Emily's inspection, considering one then the other.*
"So which? Or should I dig up something else?"
