*Wilkins shook the offered hand with a smile.*
"Guess introductions would be a bit redundant at this point. But really the little social rituals always were the most fun. Can't overlook the little things, can we? Richard Wilkins at your service Doctor."
*He gave a slight grin as he released the Doctor's hand with a wink.*
"Though to be honest I'm not here to see you in the normal patient doctor sense. It was actually your other talents that brought me to see you. Of course I'll compensate you for your time. Wouldn't want to waste one of the most valuable commodity of one of the cities better minds."

*Flattery was always nice, but Hannibal was interested more by what the man was not saying.*
"You need some service in consultation?" *He asked calmly, as he did, on occasion, work with the police and District Attorney's offices.*

"Something like that. You being a psychologist is a bonus but not what I need. I'm looking to employ someone to act as my offices cultural attache. Someone who knows the city, it's people and the culture."
*Wilkins grinned again, more at himself for finding that he was nervous.*
"This city seems to be exploding in population but they are driven further and further from what makes Paris... well... Parisian. Why I've heard that the Opera Garnier is just now opening another show after how long of sitting empty?"

*Hannibal nodded, acknowledging the man's point.*
"It has hosted a show on occasion, but it has been some time since there was something new they were preparing."
*His cool eyes studied the man. There was something...off about him.*
"Are you not...counting the proverbial chickens a bit early, sir?" *The faintest smile danced on his lips.*

*Wilkins frowned slightly as if he had never considered the thought.*
"Gee... I hope not."
*His face brightened as he smiled.*
"Besides... if I can manage to uplift one single person with a bit of culture then I'll be happy. Granted I'll be much happier if I have a nice mayoral desk on which to put my feet."
*Wilkins pulled a small book from his coat pocket. It was an old copy of Faust. Really old.*
"I'd like your help Dr. Fell. I'd like to use some of my campaign funds to help promote the show. As well as arrange to host an opening night party within one of the Opera's ballrooms. I've heard it said that you're probably one of the better people to help me not only arrange these things but ensure they are pulled off with class."
*And odd twinkle reflected in Richard's eye as he spoke.*
"I'd absolutely compensate you for your time... as my slogan says... What can I do for you?"

*Hannibal's eyes remained untelling as he glanced to the manuscipt. He considered it for a moment before asnwering.*
"I am honored at the thought, but my connections to the Opera are through this facility only."
*He gestured with one finger suggesting the whole of his office.*
"Surely there is someone in the publicity office that would be...more connected to the production." *But still, he was intrigued by the thought.*

"Ahh.. PR people. Can't stand them. Worse than politician's if you ask me."
*Richard frowned and set his face in thought.*
"Foo... I had hoped you'd be available. But I understand if you're busy. Primarily I was looking for someone in your field to fill the cultural attache position. Perhaps you can recommend someone. That Crane fellow across the hall?"
*Smiling Richard motioned toward the door.*
"Of course you were my first choice but I wouldn't want to bother you."

*That faint smile returned.*
"If you are looking to play to my vanity sir, I would suggest that you pick someone more suiting of envy. Dr. Crane is a brilliant mind without question, but his love lies only with science."
*His lashes veiled his eyes briefly.*
"And his lady."

***NEW DAY***
*Hannibal sat at his desk and flipped through his schedule, checking on the days appointments.*

Sapphire had brought her notebooks and manila folders and everything. Though she wouldn't have to work a day in her life if she hadn't wanted to, she was in fact quite enthusiastic about psychology and even wanted to work in it. Surely there was science to be done, and people to be helped.
At the moment, she had arrived at the Opera (a tad bit odd that the doctor should have an office here, but why not?), and finding the proper door, knocked politely.

"Ah yes..." *Hannibal mumbled, standing.*
"Please do come in." *He called as he started toward the door.*

She brushed back her hair one more time, and opened the door, taking him at his word and moving in with her other hand (a powered chair made things so much easier, she noted). "Good day, Doctor. I am Sapphire Caldin." It was bad manners to introduce herself with a title.

*The faintest hint of a polite smile lifted the corner of Hannibal's mouth as he offered his hand.*
"Dr. Fell. What is it that I can do for you, Miss Caldin?"
*She was rather young and pretty, but that rarely had bearing on who's mind was 'touched'. He would need time for a proper analysis.*

She took it, and gracefully shook it, her movements always measured. Well, she might be slightly off herself, but the reason she was here was not for herself. Well, at least not in that sense.
"A pleasure. I hope you don't mind, but I do need to interview an expert to receive credit in my course--I am studying abroad. Also, there is something more, ah, personal I wish to discuss."

*Dr. Fell nodded, gesturing to the chair in front of his desk as he returned to his own seat.*
"We can speak on whatever you like. That's what I'm paid for." *He added with dry humor.*
