Well...kind of...
"Not really."
*Rochester stepped aside to let her in with a grin.*
"Won't you come in?"

Renn smiled apologetically.
"Thanks. I'm sorry, it's just, you said that I could visit any time and I wanted to thank you for being so nice to me-"

*Rochester shook his head, still smiling, admonishing her from any guilt.*
"You are very welcome. And being generous is the closest thing I have to a job."
*He shrugged slightly.*
"I guess it's my calling. Would you like some tea or breakfast?"

"Tea would be wonderful," she said, a bit more relaxed.

*Rochester nodded and escorted her into the sitting room.*
"Please make yourself comfortable. I'll return shortly."
*He headed upstairs and filled Kris in about the visitor and let her know she was welcome to join them, or not, and then went into the kitchen and ordered a tea service to be brought to the sitting room. Returning to Renn, he smiled warmly.*
"There. It's on it's way."
*He hadn't realized that he'd forgotten to change.*

Renn grinned. "Thank you!"
She hadn't wanted to be rude, but at this point she felt that she had to say something, though she couldn't think of a polite way to tell him he looked an absolute mess.
"Are you... Er..." She stopped. "Did you just wake up?"

*Rochester smiled lecherously.*
"I'm afraid you did call me out of bed."
*He looked away for a moment, casually turning his train of thought.*
"I've been suffering a terrible malady. It won't give me a wink of decent sleep."

"Oh, I'm sorry," Renn said.
She laughed.
"Then again, I enjoy being sick. It's a wonderful opportunity to lay around and do absolutely nothing productive all day."

*Rochester nodded politely.*
"I am blessed to have company that takes good care of me. Although I do hate being at less than my personal best. I dislike others to have to do all of the work."

Renn shrugged.
"Maybe I'm just lazy," she said with a laugh.

"That's quite all right. That's what my home is made for."
*Rochester smiled and looked up as the service was brought in.*
"Just in time."
*He took the tray and set it on a low table, pouring two cups.*
"How do you take your tea?"

"Milk and sugar, please," she said.
She looked around the extravagantly furnished room, while he poured the tea and sighed. What I wouldn't give to be rich. Not have to work, no jackass bosses to deal with...

*Rochester mixed her tea and then made his own, with sugar only - it was far too early to put milk in his - and offered her the cup. Taking up his own, he sipped it carefully.*
"So how is your internship going? Are they still as cruel as ever?"
*He said it with a playful smile. After all, she had implied that it was similar to indentured servitude.*

*Kris smiled at Rochester's retreating backside, amused at his sudden "recovery." When he had gone, she shrugged into an extra robe and tiptoed down behind him. She'd leave him be if necessary, but she couldn't help but be curious about who called on him.*

"Extremely cruel," she said, sipping her tea. She laughed.
"It's not all that bad. I'm just rather incompetent and squeamish."
