*Nadir smiled reassuringly and kissed her hand.* "Mayhap, my dear. I just would not wish to hurt anyone by this. Least of all, you. I should like to know what is wished of me, that I may do my utmost to fulfill your expectations." *He gazed adoringly into her eyes.* "I owe you so much for what you have gifted me with..." *He placed a soft kiss on her lips.*

*Nadir brushed a curl away from her face.* "There is no need for you to go...for wherever we are together, we are home--for you will dwell forever in my heart..." *He kissed her deeply and led her back upstairs.*

*Georgiana returned the kiss and followed him blindly.* Anywhere you go let me go too. *As she walked an unopened letter from her pocket fell unto the floor. But she didn't see it.*

*Hours later, as Georgiana slept in Nadir's bed, he returned downstairs to do some paperwork in his study, unable to sleep. Spying a letter lying on the stairs, he picked it up quickly, his hand flying to the pocket he had left the letter from Alandra in. But this was not the same letter.*
Dear Madam,
You may recall some months previously, on the occasion of our last visit in London, I had asked you to sign a cheque to a certain amount for a worthy cause concerning orphans. I now realize I may have been remiss in not fully informing you of the nature of that cause. You see, I am an orphan myself, and it is I who shall benefit. When my first wife had the misfortune of meeting a premature end to her life, I was left a rather wealthy man. In speaking with your brother, he has informed me that he required a certain sum to dispense with some of his gambling debts which he recently acquired. In the spirit of helping those less fortunate, and seeing in your brother some version of myself, I agreed to assist him financially. However, I am not a stupid man, and no one would part with such a sum as I did without expecting some kind of recompense. Hence you will find that upon signing what I called a cheque, you, in fact, signed a certain certificate which now binds you to me in the state of holy matrimony. All that remains is a society wedding to be conducted in a church so that we may be acceptable in the eyes of our circle of acquaintance and God. (Although I assure you, I never saw reason to strive very hard for His approval.) Nevertheless, the marriage as it now stands is valid and binding, and you will find that I expect you to have resigned yourself to the position you now hold as my wife, and be ready to attend to all proper social norms as befits your new station when I arrive in Paris next month.
Your devoted husband,
John Willoughby
*Nadir dropped the letter as if it were a snake, but it floated innocently and lightly to the stair. A great burning sensation compressed his chest all of a sudden, and he found himself gasping for air. A moment later, he was released from the shock and found a searing anger and numbing disbelief coursing through his veins. He ran the rest of the way down the stairs and out into the night, donning his jacket agitatedly as he went to aimlessly roam the streets in his despair and misery.*

*Shadi pauses outside the grand house. Her face is set in a moue of concentration.* How do you know this guy's my daddy?

"Oh I don't. It's my gypsy-sense that's telling me. In my premonition, you know, the vision I saw? He just sort of looks like the man who lives here. Therefore, by adding 1 + 1, this guys should be your father!" *smile* Plus, I read it somewhere in an OOC conversation and thought "Hey. That's neat." *Walks up to door and rings the bell* *Turns to Shadi* "Ready?" "Steady, COOK!!!"

*Shadi frowns at Faline's trail of illogic, but shrugs. None of her business, if it gets her a daddy. Especially a daddy who lives in a really big house, and it therefore rolling in dough. Maybe even literally.
Shadi is hungry.*
Ready. *She runs her fingers through her hair, causing it for the most part to stand up.*
