"That's right...monkeys. Jumping around all over the garden, climbing things and making noise..."

*Carolina had fallen asleep on the blanket, lulled by the warm sun and tired from her frantic chase after her siblings.*

*It wasn't until then that what Becca had said finally registered.
He turned to his wife, looking rather surprised*
"Did you mean...?"

*Becca gave him a knowing look, and though she rolled her eyes a little, they were alight with joy and love.*
"...another for the barrel, I'm afraid."

*Laughing, he wrapped up in a big bear hug*
"Color me pleasantly surprised."

*Rebecca grinned.*
"Boy or girl? Which shall we have this time, do you think?"

"Hmmm...the odds are even, at the moment...perhaps a boy?"

"That's what I was thinking, too...but there's no way of knowing for certain..."

*He gently kissed her cheek* "I don't mind guessing...it's more fun that way. "

**NEW DAY**
Wanting to be alone, Zachaire walked through the elaborate knot garden, navigating the greenery mostly by instinct, as it was a path he'd followed many times before. He'd often been called anti-social for how often he was off on his own, be it in a teasing fashion from his sister or with more seriousness from their old governness.
It wasn't that he didn't like people--he certainly spoke to Violetta and the servants in the house--it was simply that he felt much more comfortable on his own, at times. And if those times were more often than one might think, well, what did it matter? He was doing no harm.

He was not, however, strictly alone this time. It was only a coincidence, though--she never would have wandered out here specifically looking for anyone. The de Chagny Estate these days seemed more empty and forlorn than anything else, and she'd taken to making little trips there for short periods of time. Nobody had seen her, and even if they had found her, she could very easily teleport away before she was caught. She'd gotten good at that, actually, although thanks to one instance she'd pretty much spawned an urban legend about the ghost of a teenage girl that disappeared if you got too close.
Lost in thought in the pretty landscaping, she whistled to herself, unaware that there was somebody who could hear her.

As used as he was to the quiet of the knot garden, it made any sound seem that much louder. To him, the whistling was like a blaring of trumpets. Pulled out of his reverie, he was a bit annoyed as he picked up the pace, moving in the direction of the sound. Who could it possibly be? There wasn't anyone else that spent a lot of time here in the knot garden...Violetta stayed near the rock gardens if she went strolling on the grounds...
He stopped when he came upon a young woman with striking eyes. Blinking, he said, "Forgive my rudeness, miss, but what are you doing here on de Chagny grounds?"
She was entirely unfamiliar to him, and he'd remember anyone that had such vividly blue eyes.

She froze in her tracks.
Oh shit.
Well, there went this particular place. And she liked this garden a lot.
"Uh...well...I was just walking...didn't mean any harm..." She mumbled, backing away quickly.
All she had to do was turn a corner, and she could teleport away, out of his line of sight.

"Hang on a moment--" he said, reaching out to stop her.
He had the strangest feeling, as though she were more than she seemed to be. It was odd, almost like an out-of-body experience.
It unnerved him, and yet, it was fascinating.
