"Everyone has their moments." It was a trait that ran in her own family, though there was a marked difference between her mother's and father's sides of the family. On the former side, it ended in disaster; on the other, it ended in happiness. Her parents had avoided impulse altogether.

His own impulsiveness tended to run rampant at times, but he'd gotten very good at reining it in when needed. Though he couldn't say where he'd gotten from (the most likely candidate was Henry VII).
"You can certainly say that again. Some more so than others."
And now, he was thinking of some of his acquaintances back at court.

"You know, it really wouldn't be very proper to see you again without knowing your surname."

He straightened a bit, debating for a moment just how truthful he should be, considering that his surname could be a liability. But at the same time, he was starting to get tired of the whole icognito game. In the end, he decided, why the hell not.
"My apologies...Tudor."

She knew of two Henry Tudors. Neither seemed to bode well... perhaps an illegitimate son? Or one of the two, but before life as King? He couldn't possibly be... oh, dear. What had she gone and gotten herself into? Regardless, she nodded in recognition.
"Then it's only fair I give you mine: de Winter."
She paused.
"... should I curtsey now?"

He raised an eyebrow. DeWinter? Now that was an old name, and one that had frequently come up in court, though he couldn't recall hearing about any of them being in France. Then again, he'd also been gone for some time now.
"I should ask if I should bow, my lady. Your family's rather well-known to mine."

"Really? Grandfather always said we mostly stuck to Manderley, more interested in our horses and our farm than gaining favor at court... I know we haven't entertained royalty since Ethelred the Unready." Though that could have just been Grandfather's odd sense of humour.

He chuckled.
"Well, it could be that you come from a branch I'm not familiar with. It's happened to me before."

"We've been here since before William the Conqueror. It's very possible."

"Is there a possibility you're familiar with the DeWinters of the Court?"
It could be. Some rather wide-spread families still kept contact with each other.

There was the small fact that they were from different time periods. She shook her head, though she was sure some had their portraits in the Manderley portrait hall.
"No, I can't say we keep contact with them. We're the largest branch, and I suppose my grandfather could have done a better job keeping us all together, but the whole family is sort of scattered."

He nodded.
"I know I have relatives I've never met."
But Sarah has no idea because she doesn't know much about the Tudors

She paused. "So am I right in assuming that you were at some point or will in the future be King of England?" She asked frankly.

Well, it was only a matter of time before she brought that up. He was glad it sooner rather than later.
"At present...I would be the King of England, yes."

She nodded, vaguely impressed, but it wasn't as if she was going to fall all over herself simply because he was the King. A certain respect was due, but he wasn't some sort of demigod.
"Now I feel as if I should have curtseyed." She said dryly.
