"Ah." Armand tapped a vague tattoo on his cup again, mildly intrigued by the on-again off-again flares of heat on the tips of his fingers. "What's your name?" It was supposedly more polite to ask, although Armand could have plucked it out of the mortal's mind had he tried.
On a completely unrelated note, Armand did not enjoy being wet. The difference from being wet in the rain and being wet indoors was that indoors one really had time to feel the complete extent of the dampness, to notice its every pervading touch and the uncomfortable wet heat that it produced. Despite having been inside for a good five minutes, Armand's hair was still dripping at the ends. It was incredibly annoying. At least his clothes had had the good sense to soak into the seat rather than onto him.
If not for the fact that this man was sure to say soemthing, Armand would have wrung himself out. But it was so undignified, and so sure to cause comment.

"Dorian Gray," *he said, with a smile.*
*Dorian was quite sure that the vampire wouldn't appreciate this, but he couldn't help noticing how lovely he looked with his hair and clothes a damp disheveled mess. Partially because he looked much less threatening that way, and because Armand's clear irritation amused him.*
"The rain suits you, you know."

"Mmm. How poetic." And because Armand was a polite vampire, he continued, "Do you know mine, or do I need to tell you?"
For the second time that evening, Armand sent Dorian a look. He was really tempted...

"I've got a pretty good idea, Armand," *he said, the statement almost a question.*
*He returned the look with a raised eyebrow.*

Armand waved a hand languidly, in an ah you've got it sort of way.
He watched Dorian, sitting across from him, cool and unperturbed. And dry. Armand didn't like that. His eyes narrowed, ever so slightly, as he considered things.
"As amusing as you might find it," he said eventually, for the second time pushing his hair out of his face, "I think you should drop the subject."

"Oh, very well," *he said with a petulant sigh.*
"You really are no fun, you know."

Armand smiled, a little smugly, his eyes flickering down the cup in his hands.

"You're one to be smug, when you're dripping all over the table.*

Armand's eyes flashed back up at Dorian in surprise. His mouth tightened in anger. His shoulders stiffened.
Then slowly, they relaxed. He gently untangled his fingers from the coffeecup and placed it away from the edge.
And then Dorian had a lapful of wet Armand. The vampire had used his impressive turn of speed to have moved so fast as to not have been seen- not even the table rattled.
"I told you," Armand said calmly, very much in Dorian's personal space, "to be quiet. And this is what you get." Solumnly, he wrung his hair out over Dorian's shirtfront. "Now I am not the only one, and now hopefully you'll be inspired to shut up."
He was back in his chair as quickly as he'd left it, sitting back and settling in as if nothing had happened.
But now, of course, the both of them were wet. And Armand was happy.

*Dorian would have made some sort of comment about Armand throwing himself at him, but he was far too annoyed at being wet.*
"What on earth was that for?" *he demanded, looking with dismay at his expensive silk shirt, now ruined.* "That was completely unnecessary!"

Armand looked over at him from under splayed fingers, not even attempting to hide his smirk. "I'm sure you can afford a new one," he said. "You seem so very rich."

"That's completely beside the point," *he argued, his eyes narrowed into angry slits.* "I liked this shirt."

Armand leaned forwards over the table, his own eyes narrowing- more out of curiousity, rather than anger. "Then what," he asked delicately, "are you doing to do about it? Besides this splendid anger." And a moment later, "You're acting as though I've run over your dog rather than spoilt a shirt."

"I'm doing nothing of the sort," *he said petulantly.* "You're getting far too much pleasure out of my annoyance," *he noted.*

"Just as you earlier were doing exactly the same thing. Turn-about is fair play."
