"Have fun," *she said cheerily, without so much derision now that they were going their separate ways. She always felt some measure of woozy relief after leaving his presence--some tension relaxing.* "I should get some sleep. I don't think I'll be doing any more slaying tonight. Thanks for the drink."
*Hefting the Scythe jauntily over one shoulder, she marched out of the cafe and towards home.

"You're welcome," *he said quietly, lest she suspect he actually meant it. When she left, he let his head slump into his hand for a moment before collecting himself. Was it even worth seeking company tonight? When the woman would only remind him of not being her?*

**NEW DAY**
Teddy sat at a little table in the corner. He put the white espresso mug to his lips and sipped, savoring the warmth as it flowed down his throat.

*Dorian entered the coffee house, greeting those of the upperclass that he knew, and making eyes at anyone pretty that he didn't. Teddy in particular.*

Teddy looked around the coffee house. He loved people watching. There were worse things to do on one's own.
He noticed the man looking at him and gave him a friendly smile.

*Dorian, of course, took the smile as an invitation, and went over to join the boy.*
"Good afternoon, monsieur."

He blinked, a little surprised by the man's forwardness, but came back at him with a polite, "Good afternoon." Teddy was afraid to say more. He was rather terrible at flirting.

"What brings you out on such a dreary day as today?" *he asked, noting the dull, cold drizzle outside.*

He shrugged. "I hate staying in the house," he answered simply. This was essentially the truth.
The reason he hated being home was how sad his family still was. They had finally gotten back on their feet, but Fabian was still dead. Teddy had never realized how much he cared for his loud, cruel, obnoxious brother until he had left and taken Penn's spirit with him.
"What about you?"

"My live-in fuckbudy's a vampire. He sleeps during the day so I have nothing to do. Get it? do? Har har. Oh, the usual. Boredom. Need for company."
*He shrugged in a graceful self-indulgent way that only one of the upper-class could manage.*

Teddy gave Dorian a small smile. "I'd be happy to provide some for you."

*He smirked.*
"Oh, would you?"

He nodded and leaned on his elbow.
"So what's your name?"

"Dorian. And yourself?"

***NEW DAY***
*Valerie went in and ordered a coffee, sitting with it at a sunny table to read a thick book on historical demons.*
