**NEW NIGHT**
The slight silhouette of Jehanne La Pucelle did not look like it should be an iconic figure, even with the 15th century armor on and making pretty metal sounds as she walked. Moonlight shone on the cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris, and Joan smiled up at it, taking her helmet off and running her gloved fingers gingerly through her boyishly-cropped hair as she did so, then frowned slightly.
This street did not look like she was used to.
And come to think of it, she'd just died, hadn't she? Wasn't she supposed to be...?
Joan bit her lip.

*Death cut an imposing form himself, dressed for work in long cloak and scythe. His silhouette stabbed over seven feet, easily towering over the girl.*
"Do not be afraid." *The words held a hint of otherworldliness.*

Joan had experience with otherworldly voices. She trusted them implicitly, and certainly, both as an observant young woman and as a former peasant, she knew what that scythe was, and what it meant. She obeyed and looked up at Death expectantly.

"Or...you could be...huh." *Death seemed to shrink a few inches, his voice becoming less imposing.*
"You...aren't afraid of me?" *The moonlight caught hints of his skull as he quirked his head to one side.*

Joan gazed up at the skeletal, not-as-imposing-as-before-but-still-imposing figure, and shrugged after a moment, still smiling as she shook her head.
"I am a knight," said Joan, with modesty. "I've seen worse."

"Well...great then." *Death said with a toothy smile.*
"Uh, did the Powers let you know why you're here now? And, you know, not dead?"

"God, you mean? Saints Margaret and Catherine?" supplied Joan, listening rather attentively, as she usually did to Otherwordly Voices. "No."

"Oh." *Death shifted his weight slightly.*
"Well, this is awkward. I'm afraid they didn't leave me any instruction. Could just be an oversight. I suppose that you don't have a place to stay then?"

Joan's brows puckered in a frown, because she was very religious and this shouldn't have been an issue, but she had total trust in God, and so she merely shook her head again.

"Right. In that case..."
*He opened his bony arms, cloak making a void against the nightscape.*
"You can stay with me until this gets right. Just close your eyes."

"Oh, thank you," said Joan, very pleased and taken aback by this generosity, obeying.

*Death wrapped his long arms about her, cradling her against his rib cage. Without another word, they shadow melted into a column of black sludge, sinking and disappearing into the pavement.* ((I put them here.))

*The Graverobber loitered near a darkened corner, seedy but inviting as always. And most certainly ready to service some costumers, in whatever means necessary. His fingers tapped lightly against the little blue vials in the pocket of his jacket and he smiled.*

Shilo was...well, not lost again, at least not in the sense that she'd messed up her senes of direction. She knew where she was, thanks to the map she'd downloaded off the internet, but she felt lost more in the sense of being out on her own in a large city. The buildings made her feel like she was.
And, okay, she'd promised her dad that she wouldn't disappear again, but in spite of how scared she'd been, Paris was still intriguing. It had a weird vibe to it that was so different from back home.
She wandered down the side street, not seeing the graverobber...yet.

*Fresh meat on the menu, he mused to himself as the Graverobber fell into step behind the girl, giving him ample opportunity to give her a good lookover.*
"Lost, little girl?" *He whispered at length, the warmth of his voice melting over her ear.*
"It hardly seems your typical sort of place...Or you looking for a whirl?"
