Tybalt ignoring his words, this mutilated girl trying to speak- Mercutio took a step back. He'd let Tybalt deal with this.

Lavinia stopped, folding her arms, frustrated. She let her eyelids shut and she took a deep breath, attempting to calm herself with one sweep of the arm, as though very Zenly trying to focus her energy. Had she had a little more time to think, she might have remembered - heartbeat slowing and panic subsiding - that she did have the gift of speech now, but she had not yet gotten to it and was instead trying to problem-solve, rather valiantly for a mad person.
Looking at Tybalt very sternly, one wrist propped up on her hip, she made a gesture towards the way they'd just come, away from the undead zombies, then pantomimed their movements to further get this point across, feeling her pride enormously bruised by this as she was used to having more grace. Then she made a manic gesture towards the center of Paris, the way they were going. She babbled some nonsense and then placed her stumps to her mouth and then brought them away, as though trying to suggest the act of speaking. Then she gestured towards Paris again.
This was maddening. And she hadn't been all there in the head to begin with.

He watched her impatiently, his nerves frayed as it was. He had no desire to play charades with a madwoman that looked like something out of a nightmare.
"I'm sorry, I don't understand you," he said evenly. "Where do you live?"
He wasn't cruel enough that he would leave her alone out here.

Ahhh, there, she seemed to be calming down somewhat. Good. Mercutio could maybe look at her without getting the shivers now.
"Ahhh..." He edged away, giving the other two a lazy salute. "Tybalt, I look forward to being ravished by you at some later date. Girl, please let this nice gentleman take you home, he is very cleanly and probably won't bite."

Lavinia stopped, almost shaking from the efforts of not screaming at him; his composure hurt her more than she could have said, even if she could speak. She stared back at Tybalt balefully, then her posture wilted a bit; she was tired, and she gave in. It was tiring to be upset and manic about something. She made a fruitless gesture down the street in what she suspected - and hoped, anyway - was the direction of the Bates Motel.
She cast the fair one a dark, broody look, not liking anyone who referred to ravishment so carelessly and certainly not appreciating being called 'girl'. The moment she saw some dirt or something she could trace her name into, she was doing it.

"Go, Mercutio," he snapped. "I'm sure I'll see you again."
He turned his attention back to Lavinia. "I apologize for my... friend. And for my harsh actions. I will accompany you home, if you would allow it."

Mercutio loped off, feeling slightly more at ease with Tybalt's curt words. Strange, but- well. Mercutio didn't think much on it.

His decorum smacked particularly of Rome, and brought to mind the familiarities of her brothers' armor and the smell of polish and the feel of the senator's robes, the smell of the plants of the area, and Lavinia smiled very genuinely for a moment before momentarily bowing deeply and respectfully to show that she understood, then nodding to say she would indeed allow it.
It was sometimes a blessing not to talk, for she'd long since given up on trying to explain the unexplainable, to articulate feelings or thoughts that would only muddle anyone else, and so in the silence that her lack of tongue imposed, she could compose herself and contemplate the nice feeling of familiarity that was there.

He returned bow and gave her a smile that was almost genuine, now that Mercutio had gone and the danger from the undead had passed, for the time being. Not to say that he was relaxed; only that he now resembled a panther slinking along the jungle floor than one chained and ready to kill.
Tybalt had never been a man of many words, so he didn't even attempt any pointless, awkward conversation with her as they walked. Beyond her safe return to whoever took care of the poor mutilated girl, he felt little responsibility for her. She stirred in him a horrified sense of pity and perhaps some morbid curiosity as to what had caused her injuries. He wouldn't have asked, though, even if she was able to tell him.

He did not offer his arm, which Lavinia really did not mind as she was not overly fond of the possibility of her stump touching someone else - unless she was deliberately trying to force someone off - but she stayed near his side anyway, unthinkingly, not wanting to find herself lost out here. The fact that the silence also did not seem to be awkward - as silences often were - made her feel a great deal better about this. The thought of the shuffling undead could still make her body seize up in fear, but she was forcing her mind onto other things, and that was something.
She more led him than he led her, as she knew where she was going and he did not; by this, it might have made sense for her to scurry on home alone, but she very much did not want to do this, and was enormously thankful.
She only stopped once, a few blocks away from the Bates Motel, throwing her arm out across his chest very suddenly as there was a great deal of sooty mud in a gutter near them. Giving him a look to show this was deliberate and not something to fear, she stepped into the street and dipped the toe of her sandal into it carefully, balancing on one foot as she painted along the sidewalk slowly the Roman letters that introduced herself.
L A V I N I A.
When she motioned to herself afterwards, thumping her breastbone lightly with one wrist, it was almost like some kind of salute.

He stopped, watching her with a puzzled expression which disappeared when he realized that she was writing something.
nodded, understanding.
"My name is Tybalt," he said, nodding with something that wasn't quite a bow.

Lavinia repeated the name and smiled a moment before growing grave again.
Well, most of the vowels had been preserved. If nothing else. Consonants gave her a pain, of course...
Satisfied, Lavinia daintily and meticulously wiped off the point of her sandal and headed back down towards the Bates Motel, where they'd be shortly anyway.

He offered her something akin to a smile, trying not to cringe at the way her mangled mouth pronounced the syllables of his name. They set off again to wherever her home might be, and the journey proved to be a short one.

The sight of the Bates Motel had never been more welcome, even though, as it was the middle of the day, Maria would doubtless not be there. Lavinia stopped in her tracks, then became extremely excited, reached out as though taking Tybalt's arm to stop him, although of course her hand was not there to do so, and gestured towards it with the other arm. Oblivious to any discomfort, Lavinia gave her escort a hug and bounded towards the front of the hotel, turning and waving at him once she had almost gotten there - the lack of a hand made this look jerky and abrupt.
After she'd turned back, she realized with a sudden clarity of thinking that so much of what had just passed had been entirely unnecessary, remembering in this lucidity - and possibly just the state of mind she was in around Maria, who'd taken her to the witch in the first place - her new ability to communicate. She smiled back at Tybalt brightly, waved again, and sort-of called out, Adieu, Tybalt! without her mouth moving or the words sounding like babbling, before she pushed the door open with her forearm and dashed in, heading swiftly up the stairs for her room once she was inside.

He stared at the door for a moment after she'd disappeared, a puzzled look on his face. He could have sworn that she'd spoken.
