"True..." Syd picked up a manilla folder with the report in it and scanned it. "But he was with me during her time of death. I've got two other people who can confirm his alibi."

((As was Raoul. Alibis are a little hard to prove in this sort of place.)) It was obvious to me how Sydney felt about him. I simply shrugged. "Alright. I owe you. I guess I'll check this out."

((True...-_-))
"Irene...He didn't do it." Sydney glanced at Sark, "Can you have him transfered to another prison? Or bail? Is that possible?"

"I could try to get him transfered. You can't be bailed out of a murder charge- Raoul was, but he was part of the aristocracy. Can't say as much for our friend here." I picked up my things. "I'll see what I can do."

"But...Nevermind. Thank you." Irene turned to leave, "Er...May I have a word with him?"

Sydney, you do believe I'm innocent, don't you? I'm a wicked person, but I wouldn't do something like this.

Sydney clenched her jaw and looked away...after a moment of hesitation, she viciously back-handed Sark, "That's for being a complete moron! Since when do you care about unconscious people anyway?" Syd gave a frustrated sigh, "The alibi isn't going to do you much..." She massaged her temples, "If justice doesn't turn out for you, I'm going to have to resort to extreme measures." Syd cursed under her breath and back-handed him again, "You're such an idiot!"

*The guards hadn't made any moves to stop Sydney from slapping him, not that Sark had expected them to* Why are you so upset? I'm the one who's going to hang.

Syd opened her mouth to say something but there weren't any words...Why did she care?
"Because I've got jobs to do. Jobs I can't do without you. And you go off doing stupid things that get you arrested--things that can get you executed Sark! What? Did time travel mess with your logic? What did you think was going to happen when someone saw you with that dead receptionist?" Syd gave a frustrated sigh and sat down in a chair.
Syd asked the guards for some privacy. With great reluctance, they moved away. "We've got to get back to '06."

"But how? Haven't we been trying to find an answer since we came here? I've long ago resigned myself to being stuck in this century, and I wouldn't have minded if it weren't for this. These damn frogs have an interesting court system- guilty until proven innocent."
*Leans back in his chair*
"No, I don't know what I was thinking. I was surprised. Hadn't seen any murders since I was comitting them back home. You're the one who used to be compassionate."

"There's a difference between being compassionate and being stupid. What you did was stupid," Syd spat, "The smart thing to do would have been to call the police."
Syd cursed under her breath again, "I have things to do here. I can't go hunting for the Rambali artifacts by myself. What are we going to do?" Syd put her belows on her knees, resting her head on her finger tips, "Any bright ideas?" she asked mockingly.

Well, you could bring in Indiana Jones to look for it... "I'll have to take my chances. Hopefully, your detective friend can help. If not, I'll have to escape."

((Hey! That's BRILLIANT! But I'm not makin' him...no way.))
"The Vicomte will make sure that you're proven guilty to cover up his tracks...And if I break you out too early, you'll deffenitly look guilty." Syd heaved a sigh, "I'm going to see Irene to try and figure out something. Meanwhile, try not to do anymore stupid things. Alright?"

((I've got too many already.)) Not much trouble I can get into in here, is there? *The guards come to take him back to his cell. His eyes meet with Sydney's one more time, then he turns and lets himself be led out*

Syd looked after him and stood there for a few moments. As she turned to leave, she realized that she was genuinely worried for him...
Him being an asset to her work wasn't the only reason why.
