"That must be difficult, feeling like you have to run the opera house. Of course, there are the managers... " She glanced up at him from beneath her lashes. "But sometimes I get the impression that you're the one who makes things happen around here."

*Raoul supressed a laugh.* "Thats how I feel most of the time. But I have little else to do." *He looked at her earnestly* "I suspect as a dancer you have to practise almost all of the time.*

"Well, yes, Madame Giry is rather strict with us!" Marianne replied with a laugh. "She makes sure that not a minute is wasted." She paused, smiling slowly. "But of course, I do have my free time. After all, I'm here now, aren't I?"

*Nadir entered the bistro, with Georgiana and Bonnie-Marie on his arms.* "Monsieur le Vicomte!" *he called out to his friend.* "I have brought you your family!"

*Raoul looked up from his coffee to see his cousin, his sister and Nadir approahing. He didn't like the way Nadir was looking at his sister.*
"Georgiana!. I didn't know you were coming. And Bonnie! I have been looking for you everywhere!."
In the stables, in the hayloft, in a misused costume room, in my estate, in the second best practise room ,on the roof. All for you!!

*Nadir raised an eyebrow at his pasty friend.* "Really, Raoul, I don't know where or why you've been hiding your lovely relatives..." *He glanced appreciatively at the two girls, then spied a third sitting at the table with Raoul.* Jackpot.

*Raoul placed a warning arm on the back of Marianne chair in a protective gesture.*
"This young lady is NOT my relation. Besides I only met Bonnie today and we are VERY distant cousins. How is your wooden leg today my friend.?"

"My leg is fine now, thank you for asking." *He turned to Bonnie-Marie and Georgiana to explain." "While fighting wars in Persia to save my homeland from the barbaric Eastern tribes, I took a particularily bad blow to the leg while I was fighting off a dozen Mongols on horseback single-handedly. It has mostly healed--but since it took such a long time to mend, I had a crutch for some time--thus my "wooden leg" is a bit of a running joke. You'll find, however, I am fit and whole as any man--perhaps moreso than some," *he smirked, trying not to dart his eyes in Raoul's direction. He offered his arm to Bonnie-Marie.* "Shall we take some air whilst your cousins get re-acquainted?"

*as wide-eyed as a child during his story* Oh Angel, it's so amazing and brave of you to fight all those men yourself! I'm so glad you won so you can still teach me to cook! Yes, let's take a walk--maybe to the kitchen? *smiles at him sweetly*

*Nadir smiled and dipped his head.* "I shall be pleased to escort you thence and teach you anything you would like to learn from a man such as myself..." *He took Bonnie-Marie's hand, bowed to Georgiana with a secret smile just for her, and clapped Raoul on the back before leaving the bistro with Bonnie-Marie, heading for the kitchens of the opera house.*

Marianne watched as the tall, foreign man left the bistro, arm-in-arm with Bonnie-Marie, who she recognized from the Opera. She felt foolish... she hadn't even opened her mouth throughout the whole conversation.
But one of the girls had stayed behind - Georgiana, was that her name? She was new at the Opera house.
Suddenly, she felt a rush of resentment towards the girl for barging in on what she had hoped would be a private conversation with Raoul... and I was just getting to know him so well...
But Marianne pushed the uncharitable thought aside. It wasn't Georgiana's fault! Georgiana was standing nearby the table and Marianne smiled kindly at her.
