*For the first time ever, a maternal smile appeared on her face. The boy was rather adorable, she had to admit, and fearless as well.
She nodded, not knowing how to respond to a child and opting to respond as though he were an adult.*
"Greetings, Liam. Don't cause too much trouble for your mother, now."

*He gave a fearless grin and started babbling in toddlerspeak at Erika.*
"Yes, that's very interesting. You're quite right, Liam." *Micaela said seriously, holding back laughter. He wiggled and pushed at his mom.* "Down, mama, down!" *She obliged and he toddled straight up to Erika, cocking his little head curiously.*
"Ewukka, aswerbglofflaghb? *He asked, as if expecting to be answered.*

*For some bizarre reason, she wanted to pick him up. She quickly squashed that feeling, knowing enough that no mother lion appreciates strange creatures around their cubs.
She took a step back*
"Er...Erika does not know what you mean."

*Micaela chuckled.* "Nor does anyone else. He just likes pretending he can talk like a big boy, don't you bud?" *She smiled fondly at him.*
*He turned around and said something or other to his mother then took a few wobbly steps toward Erika.*
"Up!" *He said insistently, reaching his arms up and looking at Erika imploringly, opening and closing his hands. It was obvious that he was used to getting what he wanted.*
*Micaela obviously didn't mind as her stance and facial expression hadn't changed. She was still just smiling fondly at Liam.*

((Phantomess: )) *She stared at the boy, not believing what he was asking but admiring the boldness nonetheless.* "Erika would rather not. It would not be...appropriate."

*Liam pouted and pushed his arms up again insistently.*
"Up!"

*She was now rather disconcerted, to say the least. Not wanting to cause a scene, she very reluctantly (and as though he were made of glass) picked up Liam. She held the boy awkwardly, not really knowing how one should*
"You are quite the bold one, Liam."

*He grinned at her and bean babbling away as if he'd known her as long as he had Auntie Megan or Auntie Beatrice, gesturing as best he could with his pudgy hands.*
*Micaela chuckled.* "Liam, sweetie, I think we're bothering her." *The hilarity of the situation wasn't lost on her... the Phantom was holding a child. If that wasn't hilarious she didn't know what was. He turned to her and frowned, making a face that clearly said 'Mom, I was talking to Erika!'*
"Don't you give me that face, mister." *She said to him.* "We were going to go see the windows at Saint-Chapelle. Remember, the ones in the book?" *It was obvious that Erika was uncomfortable and she knew exactly how to talk Liam into letting go.*
*As if on cue, his face lit up and he bounced happily, clapping.* "Winnows!" *He said excitedly, both to Erika and to his mother. Micaela had shown him a book of French cathedrals and he'd taken quite a fancy to the Saint-Chapelle, with its beautiful stained glass.*
"Yes, windows. Now come to Mama and we'll go see them."
*He twisted and reached toward her eagerly. She plucked him out of Erika's arms and held him to her with practiced ease.* "There we are." *She turned to face Erika, smiling.* "It was nice to meet you and all but I've got to get him out of here before he forgets about the stained glass and wants me to show him the catwalks." *She turned to go but then looked over her shoulder at Erika.* "The way you tutored Christian was excellent, by the way. He's got the best tenor I've ever heard."
*Then, having said that, she turned once again to walk out of the building.*

*The Phantomess stood there for a moment, completely shellshocked at what had just happened. She didn't know what to think--about herself as well as the child and the woman. It was perhaps a bit too much.
Muttering to herself, she retreated back into the shadows from whence she came*
