*Liam had developed a fondness for her maid, Eliza, and she had offered to take him back to the hotel for his nap while Micaela revisited the opera. She looked around at the gaudy fixtures and bright colors fondly, remembering the years she'd spent here. Eliza would be in with Liam soon, but Micaela wanted to take advantage of this rare moment to herself.*
*She somehow doubted that she'd see Christian, but it'd be nice to be able to bother him into coming for the Christening.*

*Golden eyes were watching the foyer when Micaela entered. At first, the Phantomess didn't take much note of the girl--until she took a closer look and saw...*
"De Chagny!" She hissed to herself.
Unfortunately, because of the echoey nature of the foyer, her words carried enough to be heard.*

*Micaela stopped when she heard a very feminine voice hiss a name. She looked around, not impressed.*
"Erik?" *She asked dryly.*

"Hardly." Came the voice.
*She stepped out of shadow, eying Micaela critically*
"Erika...ah, but you are not the Victomtess. Merely a double."

*She stood straight and eyed the woman back.*
"You're Christian's phantom-thing, aren't you?" *She said, suddenly remembering the way Christian had mistaken her for someone named Raoula when they had first met. There wasn't anything menacing in her stance, just curiosity.*

*The Phantomess narrowed her eyes*
"How is it that you know Erika's angel?"

*Oh yeah. This was she.*
"We met when I was working here." *She said simply. Though she hadn't said anything, she knew that Erika would automatically go on alert because she was Christian's friend. She subtly made her left hand obvious to show she was no competition.*

*Erika, ever the perceptive one, immediately noticed Micaela's ring hand.
The Phantomess' mood went from being on the offensive to merely curious.*
"Hmm. Erika sees you are no threat, though she wonders who you may have married if not the Daae."

"Maxim de Winter is my husband. I'm Micaela de Winter." *She said.* "And Christian was already... with Erik when I first met him, but I know I look like the de Chagny in your universe."
*Her regard for the relationship between the two of them was clearly not so good. Mostly because Erik was a freaking psycho.*

*Erika pursed her lips thoughtfully*
"De Winter? English...so, out of Erika's purview."
*Though it couldn't be seen, she raised an eyebrow at the tone in Micaela's voice*
"Lady de Winter does not approve of Erik and Christian?"

"He got one of my friends pregnant with his baby and missed the birth to go chase after Christine Daae, who had made it quite clear she wasn't interested. Then threw my friend in an asylum for no other reason than to get her out of the way so he could raise the child when the kid was five years old. He's an egotistical, selfish control freak and I'm not so fond of him. If I don't approve of them, it's because I believe that Christian deserves better." *She said. Her opinion of the man hadn't changed and doubtless never would, and this much was quite obvious in her voice.*

*She absorbed all of this quietly, obviously going over it with a fine-toothed comb in her mind. Finally, she spoke*
"Erika would like nothing better than to take Christian away from that man. He does not belong with Erik...Erik is not his Phantom, just as you are not his De Chagny. It is too far out of balance for Erika's liking."

"I don't like to see my friends used, personally." *She said.* "It's not by any stretch a healthy relationship."
*At that moment, Liam toddled in. Delighted to see him though confused as to why Eliza wasn't with him, she swept him up into her arms and kissed his forehead.* "How's my boy, huh? Why isn't Eliza with you, sweetie?" *He laughed as he got swung up.*
"'Liza outside." *He said simply. The maid had spotted Micaela inside the opera (though had completely missed seeing Erika) and sent Liam in to surprise her.* "Ah." *Micaela said, mostly to herself. She turned to see if Erika was still there.*

*Erika was slowly fading back into the shadows. The appearance of the little boy (and the appearance of all children, really) reminded her of what she couldn't have.*
"Erika should be going...she has an opera house to keep an eye upon."

*Liam pointed at Erika and looked questioningly at his mom.*
"That's... Erika, sweetie."
"Ekka." *He attempted to repeat.*
*She smiled apologetically at Erika.* "He likes to know everything's name. This is Liam. Liam, can you say hi?" *He was wary of the mask and clutched to his mom, but waved nonetheless.*
"Yeah... I won't keep you. Now he's awake we're supposed to be going to the park, aren't we, bud?" *Now she was talking to Liam, and he clapped and grinned.*
"Park!" *Micaela grinned at him.*
