*Micaela had finally made up her mind to get her ass to Paris in order to finally let go of her apartment. She could have had Frank take care of it, but she felt as if she needed a sense of closure here. She had made arrangements for her beautiful old piano to be sent to Manderley; nothing much else in her apartment was worth taking. She was astounded to find that the jewelry she had owned was still there and that nobody had broken in. She would visit the Booths later...*
*For now, she was here to say goodbye to her beloved opera house.*

*Malefica comes into the foyer and notice a beautiful woman standing there.*
"May I help you, Madame?" *she asks politely*

*She laughed softly, turning to the other woman and resting a hand on the baby bump.*
"Oh no, just visiting. Lots of memories in this place."

*Malefica notice the baby bump and smiles friendly.*
"Congratulations! How long will it be before...? Or am I rude to ask? By the way, my name is Malefica."

*She chuckled.*
"Trust me, when you've got all of London society asking after the baby, you get used to it." *She extended her free hand, which happened to be the hand on which her wedding rings sat.*
"I'm Micaela de Winter--Baby de Winter is due in June."

*Malefica gave a courtious bow.*
"You are so beautifully dressed, Madame." *she says* "Are you a princess? The name de Winter sounds very noble."

*She laughed aloud at that one--not at Malefica, but at the fact that someone could mistake Micaela for Royalty.*
"Oh, God no. It's a very old family, and I think it might be noble. But I'm certainly not a princess--I'm just a farm girl who married Maximilian de Winter. You've probably heard the name in reference to our house, Manderley."

*Malefica thought about it for a while, but the name did not ring a bell*
"Forgive my ignorance, Madame." *she blushed* "I have never heard about the house of Manderley before. You see, I am Greek."

"Ah, well, that's a relief, actually. I hate it when people know about me before they meet me." *She said, smiling in a friendly manner.* "And please, call me Micaela. Or at least Mrs. de Winter--no need for 'Madame.'"

"I hate that as well. The world can be so prejudiced." *Malefica smiled* "I call you Micaela if you call me Malefica, or by my pet name Mali, if you like."

"Well then. It's lovely to meet you, Malefica. I'm not in Paris for long; I was only picking up my piano to get it shipped back home." *She explained.* "Would you like to go get some coffee or something?"

*Malefica smiled. Noone had ever invited her before.*
"I'd love to." *she said.* "Where do you want to go?"

"Um, if I remember correctly there's the Cafe de la Paix across the street..."

"I don't know Paris very well, so I'll go where you like."

*She laughed.*
"Well I don't remember it very well but I do remember the Cafe. Shall we?" *She motioned for Malefica to follow her.* "It's just across the square."
