*The color quickly drained from Beatrice's face. The similarities were striking, but...no war wounds would have left him like this. She quickly dropped her gaze and fell into a deep curtsy.*
"A thousand pardons, you highness. I know not how I could mistake you, save that he is more like you than your brother."
*Remembering that the man was supposedly his brother, she curtsied to him as well.*
"And you, sire. I know not how it is that you should bear his liking so. Perhaps..."
*She couldn't suggest a wild oat, not to a prince... She grew silent once more.*

"Perhaps it is the sport of the fates, then, wishing to throw us together for their own amusement."
*Richard did not much care what led a lively female to take notice of him.*
"Who are we to deny their intricate designs? May I beg your acquaintance, lady, now that you have mine?"

*She stood tight-lipped. Just because he was a prince and she had to be more polite didn't mean that Fate had plans.*
"Beatrice, ward of Leonato, of Messina, you Highness."
*She bit her lip slightly.*
"I am keeping you, sir. The world no doubt asks much of you. I mean not to be a hinderence. I am not be a laundry lass."
*She took a step backwards, as if to leave.*

Edward watched as the twisting tongues of Shakespearian twilight ravaged each other with such broken grace, in real words, it made him giggle, but the girl was hot "Well Richie" he said with a laugh "I'm out of here big daddy, tell Anne and little Ned I said Hi! And to you-" he took Lady Beatrice hand and kissed it softly "I truly hope to be seeing more of you."

"If laundry lasses be cut from your mold, milady, there must be no shame in the title. The world asks much, but as you are of the world, you must have some claim on my attentions as well. But nay; I keep you from your work."
*He bowed awkwardly.*

*She stared at both men for a long moment, curtsying as Edward kissed her hand.*
"You do me honor, my lord."
*Turning her eyes on Richard, she wasn't sure what to think. It was as if he was mocking her, and yet...not. It was disorienting.*
"Work is an ever present master, your highness. I must take my leave of it on occasion or would find myself starved to death."

"I would not have you starve, my lady," *Richard said.* "Your flesh is quite natural as it is, and should suffer no diminishment. But call me not 'your highness'; I am not king."
Yet.

((But isn't that the form of address for a prince? Wouldn't it be your Majesty if he were king?))
*Beatrice scrunched her nose slightly.*
"And how would thou have me to address you then, Prince as you are?"

((Oh, maybe. I didn't know that. I should probably look that up... According to Wikipedia, I can't find any use of "Highness" for the king's brother. And he is not the son of a king. He's just the Duke of Gloucester.))
"In polite company, miss, Your Grace will suffice; in private I might agree that all grace in the matter belongs to you alone."

*Beatrice looked at him hard.*
"Then your Grace you are always, sire for there would be no circumstance that would beg of a laundry lass in the private audience of a prince."
*She curtsied.*

*Quickly, he took her hand and bent over it to kiss it.*
"Then you know more of fate than I, to speak so surely. Good day, milady."

*Beatrice arched a confused brow.*
"Good day, your Grace."
*She pursed her lips and turned to start back up the stairs.*

*Richard gazed up after her, watching her shapely form move away until she was hid from his eyes.*
"Aye, an I am Gloucester, I will know ye better," *he vowed.*

Edward stared from the shadows at Richard with a laugh What a kook! Now off to find the REAL Richard. He turned from the foyer and began through the rest of the Opera house.
