*A carriage stopped outside of the Opera House, carrying Beatrice and a very attractive Detective.*
"Here we are," *she said, looking up at the magnificent building.* "Impressive, isn't it?"

*He eyed the building critically*
"Yes, is it."
Impressively garish.
*He held his arm out to her*
"Let's see what they have for us today."

"It's worse inside, just you wait," *she said laughing at the look on his face.*

*He gave her a small chuckle*
"One can only worry."
*They moved farther in, Beatrice's words getting confirmation the more he laid eyes on*
"Who designed this place?"

*She giggled brightly at the gaudy statues and tasteless decor. She smiled wider at the realization that she hadn't laughed so often in months.*
"I hope they were fired after this."

"I certainly hope this isn't a preview of how the operas are."

"Oh, I wouldn't know. I've never seen one."

"Let's find out."
*Currently, thanks to the rearranged schedule perpetrated by Erik, the opera had extended their run of the Magic Flute until Turandot was ready for performance. Tickets were still available, and Abberline had no trouble procuring two good seats for himself and Beatrice. He handed her her ticket*
"Culture awaits us, my dear."

*She grinned, taking the ticket and reading it with some difficulty. She'd never really learned how.*
"The Magic Flute? That sounds exciting."

*As they wandered into the waiting area, discovering that the decorating scheme didn't get any better, a crowd slowly started to form, waiting for the doors to open pre-curtain*
"So," he said casually. "How long have you been in Paris?"

"A bit less than a year," *she said, glancing around at the people and feeling rather under dressed.*

"A year...that sounds like you've decided to stay here."

*She nodded.*
"It's better than London, if not by much."

*He eyed the still-growing crowd a moment before turning his attention back to Beatrice*
"I'm not sure what I'll do here. I don't know how readily they'll accept a foreign detective."

*She shrugged.*
"There seem to be more English than French here anyway. I'm sure you'll be able to work on the police force."
