((I know! It's so gay-yet-not-yet-is. BTW, what happened to Raoul?))

((I think the better question is what didn't happen to Raoul?))

*Alex blushed unexpectedly and worried. Did he know? Did he suspect?
Or did he talk like this to all the "boys"?*
"Very well, good sir. Where shall we begin? Decor? or catering?"

“Hmm…”
*Rochester paused for a moment, as if he could possibly hold all of the information he would need in his brain at one time. His face went through a series of expressions as he debated with himself. Finally he nodded with determination and looked at Alex with a nonchalant wave of his hand.*
“Well, I guess the first thing is to set a date and reserve this hall. If we are to have it here of course. But I thought we might. What do you think? And yes, I was thinking of having a Valentine’s theme. Something to get people…in the mood? Too cliché? I can never tell…So what do you think?”

*Alex laughed.* "Sounds perfect. And this is the perfect place for it--nothing is too cliche for opera. Should be a simple matter, if the managers are in. Were you thinking Valentine's Day itself?" *She gazed around the room, a finger to her lips.* "Of course, there are many other decisions to be made. Masked or not? Will food be served, or just snacks? Should we start with the managers' office?"
((Because of course, the managers totally dictate who uses the space.))

"All matters to be dealt with in turn. But yes, I do believe that the managers should be sought out immediately. Would you by chance know the way? And as for the day itself, anything close should be fine. What do you think?"
*Rochester would have been exhausted at the sheer wind he was moving through his lungs, but the thought of such an extravaganza had him far too excited to be tired.*

"This way," *Alex said, and gestured towards the offices. She spoke as they walked.* "I think that setting the date somewhere other than the 14th would suggest that you believed your guests had something better to do on that particular day. Set a bad precedent, I think. No, you must be firm, and assume without contemplation that your party is absolutely the only thing that should be on anyone's minds."

“Excellent point! We mustn’t have any of that going on. If they want to get…frolicsome, they can do it at the party.”
*Rochester leaned in towards Alex as they walked, dropping his voice.*
“Do you think they’d let us have access to rooms for those kinds of…”festivities?” I know that Paris is known for its lovers, and well it is a Valentine’s theme…what if we didn’t suggest it, but you know, didn’t prohibit it? You think that some of the guests might “make the most of the night?”
*He offered a coy smile and a raised eyebrow. Just the thought of all that juicy gossip was getting to him. He quickly turned his face to look where they were going again, trying to stay focused on the task at hand.*
“I digress, so where is this office? Are we almost there?”
((Do you want to start a thread in the Manager’s Office? I can meet you there.))

***NEW DAY***
*An invitation has been posted in a nice visible place. It is hand-painted in gold on velum and perfumed.*
To any and all that wish to partake of festivities in the spirit of St. Valentine:
The newly arrived Earl of Rochester would entreat your attendance and your pleasure at a gala hosted at the grand Opera Populaire on February the Fourteenth from Seven in the Evening until you would beg your leave for reason of exhaustion due to pure indulgence. All are welcome and encouraged to bring those that you fancy with you. For those who make their attendance unaccompanied, may the Saint bestow his gift upon you, finding you in merry company for the evening.
Deepest regards.
