After a moment of locking eyes, Bruce shrugged and leaned back against the wall with one shoulder. "You could have bargained your way out of something."

Bruce stared at him a very long moment, tapping his glasses against the open palm of his other hand irritatedly, before sighing and leaning back again, straightening them, and putting them back on his face.

There was a cynical laugh, though it sounded more like a small involuntary cough, from Bruce, who didn't move.
"Hear you just fixed New York. Now you need somebody to break something?"

"My point is that I find it a nearly tragic waste of potential for you to spend your life on the run when I could help you achieve everything you're capable of- though perhaps I oversell myself in saying that," he conceded. "My only contribution would be providing you with the means and the funding, and... well."
He spread his hands.
"In time, perhaps a cure."
