Malika's route (which conveniently takes her to a street not so far out from the circus) wasn't for monetary purposes. There were plenty of men she could've picked up that night if she had been, plenty who'd whistled or waved or tried to get her attention, thinking, as they ought to, considering the stockings and boots and shorts and tank top she was strutting coldly down the sidewalk in, that she was trying her hardest to hook.
She just had to see it again. She had to go through it in the same base dress, in the same body, with the same hair and the same eyes, to walk down those avenues with all of the other cheap women, and know, as she was doing so, that if she shook her head at any of the men who moved to touch her, no one was going to make her do it. She didn't have to. The only person who owned Malika was herself.

Selina was, to put it nicely, rather ticked-off at this birdman. She'd decided to come back revenge, this time prepared for what she was going to face. It was, she reflected, both irritating and strange; she could burgle hoards of gold and jewels from the ordinary masses and elite businessmen alike, but when she tried to snatch one trinket from this...person, she couldn't get away with it?
Either way, she sighed, slinking through the darkness back to where she'd been before, hoping she'd timed it right and this time he might be out. She'd take everything not nailed down, just to show him.
((Right-o! ...And, yes, of course, Catwoman can only steal from NPCs.))

(( You were hyper when you set up this thread, weren't you, Sarrin? Or at least very very happy. ^_^ ))
Catwoman was very wrong to hope that Erin was out. Erin was a lone wolfbird, and while he would sit with the other performers, and talk, and smile or sometimes even laugh, he was just as content to sit in his trailer and smoke with the window open. Which was what he was doing now, absently staring off at some point beyond the window as he sat cross-legged against the back of his bed in a very serene manner which was soon to be irrevocably shattered.

((Oh, is it my turn again now? Sorry!))
She had gotten in easily enough; it hardly even seemed that they had any security at this place. Normally, she might have made a crack about how it was actually disappointing to Isis, except that her cat wasn't with her. Soon enough she'd made her way over to the trailer she'd been at before, hanging halfway down and supporting her weight with her hands while she peered into the window. Her emerald eyes flashed in irritation. So, he was home, was he? This could prove difficult. Did that mean she'd give up? Not on her first life.

Erin's senses were considerably dampered when he was in his normal form- or rather, it was that they were only the senses of any other human. Staring off into the middle-distance beyond the opposite wall, Selina would see his profile, and he would see nothing. He wasn't paying attention.

Well, this was a golden opportunity! Or, at least, it appeared to be. Staying absolutely quiet herself, she reached out slowly, one-handed, and relied on her ever-useful glass-cutting claws to slowly carve out a section of the window, trying to curve it so that it fell outside onto the softer grass.

(( The window's already open, so that the cigarette smoke can escape. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Selina's getting a good strong whiff... ;D ))

((I'm back! Told you I didn't forget! And, okay.))
Her nose wrinkling in disgust, Selina at least noted that she didn't have to do so much work as usual. The noise it made was in fact usually a giveaway. This wasn't what she had in mind, but perhaps it could work anyway, if she was quiet enough. Thus thinking, she stifled her coughs, and lowered herself slowly through the window, turning rightside-up.

It took several seconds for Erin to notice her, long enough for her to get through the window and to her feet, but he caught the flicker of movement of her turning right-side up from the corner of his eye and turned his head. There was a moment of blank incomprehension before Erin's expression changed and he leapt to his feet, startled. "What do you want?" he demanded, hurridly twisting the top of his cigarette off to snuff it out without looking down.

Of course she could do that--cats always landed on their feet, after all. It irritated her that he had seen her, though, and this time she was quicker to move her hand to the handle of her whip. "Nothing much," she replied coolly; "just to repay the favor..."

Erin stared at her, and it was surreal to see that steady gaze on her as the eyes that were staring widened into perfect spheres, his pupils expanding to fill up nearly the entire iris. His shirt tightened around his shoulders, and as his hair twitched as though someone had blown on it and then began to lengthen in unsteady spurts, matching the growth of his nails. "Get over yourself. You were the one who tried to steal from me." But he was smiling as he said it, moving one shoulder forward, then the other, hunching them as his shirt finally split in the back and his wings unfolded carefully, so carefully, like the wings of a bird first emerging from the shell. "Shoo, cat, don't bother me."

Okay, that was disturbing, certainly. But she wasn't going to let it freak her out, not when she was on a mission. Again. After all, cats ate birds, didn't they? She considered...then decided against it. Not very effective, and her trump card. "Of course I was," she replied, smirking as she advanced quickly, before he could get fully prepared, hopefully. "Do you think I take that kind of thing lying down, though?"

"I did nothing," Erin hissed at her, and leapt, too impatient to wait for her first move. His wings, fully extended now, gave a great downward flap that both propelled him forward and sent empty cigarette cartons skidding around the floor.

((...and no offence to Selina, but we are continuing with this. Because.))
And perhaps it was a bias of some kind or other, but a woman dressed in a skintight PVC catsuit who was clearly not hooking had Malika's immediate sympathy, the way one pregnant woman smiled knowingly and compassionately at another in the supermarket, the way one wife bonded with someone else simply because both had husbands who were alcoholics, adulterers, or simply bores. It was a sort of gift that only a woman had, Malika thought, to do that.
The catwoman didn't have a lot of time to talk before running off with feline agility. Malika did not need a lot of time, nor a lot of talking. She could be sure that whoever was pursuing her would, indeed, be distracted.

Erin was hot on her trail, though. Feline agility she might have, but he had eyesight keen enough to spot which way a penny was turned two streets over and hearing that nearly matched. Besides which, in this form, Erin honestly didn't care how many people shouted or ducked for cover as he skimmed along streets and shot along roofs.
Once, he came to an abrupt halt outside an apartment complex, wings dragging in the dirt, half-crouched, head held high and straining to catch a glimpse, a whiff, or any sound of the cat. Anyone in the apartments looking out the window would have faced a startling sight as he stalked up and down past the doors, peering in windows, turning his head to look the other direction down the nearby streets, and listening.
Then an overheard snatch of conversation, and the door to Malika's apartment shook under his onslaught.
