"And here I was thinking you were my angel." Dean mock-pouted.

Celestine snorted, "You only wish.
"So, have you any idea of how this angel works?"

"Well, clearly without any human form of weaponry." Dean knew he was stating the obvious, but didn't care.
"So it's likely he's using some sort of celestial powers to do them in." Celestine could be the expert on that one. After all, if it were angel-powers, he'd have them too.
"Any idea why he's targeting his victims yet?"

"Apparently," the angel murmured. "His victims are not well-to-do persons. In fact, a large majority of them were fairly unknown individuals who wouldn't dare purposely harm or offend an insect, and had carried on through life as best they could. In other words, not very exciting people.
"Perhaps, he's envious of the dull lives they led?"

Dean couldn't help but chuckle. "Yeah, all this angelic stuff must make you real jealous of dull people." Then he shook his head. "But then the murder of those other angels wouldn't make much sense, would it?"
The hunter rolled the body a bit, trying to find some sort of relevant mark or whatever. Maybe angels and some dull people had banded together to make a secret society?
"I had a case once where the ghost of a priest pretended to be an angel... got people to murder the sinners. All the victims seemed pretty innocent, until you dug a little deeper and discovered the shit they'd confessed to him when he was still alive."

((Goodness...I'm so lightheaded.))
"Interesting," the angel stated, steepling his fingers. "It would seem that the human victims had committed nothing of consequence during their lives, and that the angels possessed rather clean records. Shall I run a thorough background check on both, then?"

"Wow, you must be some kind of genius!" Dean rolled his eyes.
"Yes, it does kinda seem like a good idea to figure out why the bastard is killing people, might help in the whole catching him department, you know?" The hunter grumbled a bit more, quite likely about angels.
"What're you gonna do with the dead chick?"

"Give her a proper burial, I suppose. In the grave and coffin that you'd been in, I'm guessing," Celestine smirked. "You wouldn't want to say any last prayers for her, would you? Or is that hoping for too much?"

"I was going to suggest we salt and burn the bones." Dean shrugged.
He knew it was probably some bad mojo to tell an angel that, especially one high upon the big-ass horse of high and mighty morals, but still... it was the best way to prevent zombies and hauntings and other unpleasant shit.

Celestine raised his brows, surprised. "Well, that certainly diverges from tradition. Although, I do suppose you're an expert at this sort of thing, so we'll do it your way." He crossed the room in a few strides and loomed over Xanthe's body, peering hard at her softly shut eyes. She appeared tranquil in death, almost as if she were asleep.
Death--what a terribly foreign concept. Much too foreign, for his taste.
"Is there a unique type of salt necessary for the process?" he inquired, never tearing his eyes away from the girl.

"Well, any salt will pretty much do... though if you want to go with the 'ideal' option rock salt is your best bet. Also does wonders in a shotgun if you ever need to get rid of a ghost." Not that ordinary salt didn't ward off ghosts as well, but he usually only used that when he really had to.
Best to stick with what you knew in this field, experimenting could be the death of you.
And thinking of death... the angel was staring at that dead girl in a somewhat unpleasant way.
"Something on your mind, angel?"

Celestine looked up.
"Hmm? Oh, I was just contemplating the implications of death--eternal life and eternal damnation and all that business."

"Sounds charming." Dean rolled his eyes.
As if they didn't get enough of that shit anyway... no additional contemplation needed.
"Let's go salt and burn a corpse, that ought to take your mind off it."

"Yes...let's," he returned quietly.
Celestine bent to slide his arms under Xanthe's lifeless body and strode fluidly towards the door, which presently swung open. So, the posthumous process had already begun to take place; the girl felt oddly waxy and stiff under his touch.
"And away we go."

Dean palmfaced. Honestly...
"Dude... do the flutter thing... two guys carrying a dead chick, that's noticable even in Paris!"
