*Bruce furrowed his brow in concentration as he quickly went through a mental tally of all the rooms of the house. Some he hadn't been to in ages, and he wasn't sure that the vague memories he had of them were accurate anymore. At the least, though, they would be kept up. Alfred was something of a Superman in that department*
"I think there's one you might like here in the East Wing."
*He lead Jess down a couple of turns, but not so many that she couldn't find her way back to the foyer.
They were soon standing before the open door of a nicely appointed room--big, like most rooms in this place, decorated with a decidedly feminine hand.*
"My mom picked out a good number of the room decorations in here."
*He glanced around the room. It WAS nice*
"I think she missed her calling: she should have been an interior decorator."

Jess moved in slowly taking the room in, everything stood out, after all these years you could still smell the wood. There was a slight bit of dust coating everything, but only a week or two worth, Alfred must clean the unused rooms once a month. Jess touched the sculptures and the large bed posts before turning and running in to Bruce's arms "It's the most beautiful bedroom I've ever seen!"

*He was a bit surprised when she jumped into his arms, not that he was going to complain. Chuckling, he gave her a gentle squeeze*
"If you like it that much, you can stay here!"

"I love it" she let go of him, hesitantly "I just need to go back to the opera house and get my things. I don't have much, but all my books are there, and my writing, and well the little clothes I have." She smiled "I don't know what to say, you've been so kind."

"I'm always happy to help, Jess. And how about I give you a lift? If all the furnishings and Alfred came with the house, then I think it's safe to assume that my cars came along, too."
Especially THAT car...

"I'm sure late 1800's Paris is going to, pardon the expression, shit their pants when they see a car rolling down the road" she laughed "but that's all right, they've seen stranger things, and I'd love a lift, being in a car might help the home sickness."
((To the Dressing Rooms, that's where I have my little office))

*RETURNED FROM ZE OPERA HOUSE*
*Alfred was there to greet them as Jess and Bruce came through the door. Though Bruce couldn't read Alfred's expression, he could swear that the man seemed a bit more pleased at the situation that he usually would show*
"I've already prepared the room, Master Bruce."
*Bruce chuckled*
"You must be a mind-reader, Alfred."
"Just observant, sir."

Jess smiled at Alfred The Real Alfred she repeated in her mind, they made their way up through the house toward the room, Alfred following, silently in their footsteps. They got to the room and Jess opened the doors, it had been dusted and the bed had been remade New Sheets she smiled.
"You're amazing Alfred, I think Bruce was right when he said mind-reader" Bruce sat the trunk down next to a bookcase and Jess began unpacking her clothes and putting them in to the dresser "I admit, I don't have much."

"Nothing to be ashamed of."
*He briefly thought of his sojourn in the world's underbelly*
"I've been in such a situation before."

"You?!" Jess exclaimed, suddenly forgetting who he was "I'm sorry that sounded rude" she looked down a little embarrassed "I just never imagined a man with so much, could ever have so little."
She finished putting away her clothes and smiled at Bruce before sitting down on the bed "Oh that's nice" she patted the bed "you have to feel this bed" she laid back on it and sighed.

*The immediate thought to the invitation had to be shoved away before it got anywhere*
You're horrible, Bruce. Really.
*He strolled casually over and simply sat down near her*
"Nice and cushy."

Jess was simply being friendly "Lay down you stiff old man" she forced him down on to the bed and looked up at the ceiling which was painted to model the night sky "Amazing" she whispered "You're mother must have been the most wonderful woman in the world, to think of something like this."

*She got a laugh out of that, and hell, the mattresses in this house were all cushy. He let her drag him down*
"You know, I never knew that the ceiling had been painted."
