Two weeks later

The first day of the new situation began with Adrian having to tell Adrien, as gently as possible, that there were certain ways of being woken up that were not generally compatible with trying to get to work on time.
After this slightly inauspicious beginning, however, life fell into a fairly established pattern. Adrian left for work at seven o'clock in the morning, five days a week, and would return eleven to twelve hours later depending on how the day went. Starting on the third day, packages began arriving for Adrien from time to time in the afternoon- there would be a call from the desk in the lobby saying that there had been a delivery for Mr. Veidt's apartment; would it be all right if it were sent up via the old dumbwaiter system still in place from when the building had been only one grand house?
These packages, which Adrien was informed were his at dinner on that third night- Adrien seemed to really enjoy making dinner- invariably contained women's clothing sized to fit a girl of perhaps 5'7" or so and with a rather skinny, curveless build. They were eventually joined by equally delicate, feminine hats and shoes and the occasional pair of gloves, and once with- a pearl necklace.
Adrian rather felt that his own ideas on the matter were immaterial in this case. The point was to make Adrien happy, and it certainly seemed to. It didn't hurt that Adrien really did make a rather pretty, if a bit gawky, girl in these clothes. Before long, Adrian tended to be greeted at home in the evenings by a broadly-grinning young man dressed as a girl, the gleam of Adrien's pearls seeming dim in comparison to his teeth.
