"Game," the figure in white make-up remarked, scrutinizing the immediate area around it and its companions. "Set," it stated, loading its handgun and adjusting the sports bag slung on its shoulder. The others merely waited silently for its command.
"Match."
The group burst through the doors of Paris International; the Joker fired a few rounds into the air and leered openly at the horrified customers and employees. "Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Just do as we say, and no one needs to be harmed. All we want is...your money," he laughed. His comrades jogged off to locate and open the vault.

As it happened, who else should have stopped by the bank earlier but Selina Kyle, planning out a raid on it later herself? As unfortunate as this timing might seem to be, it might in fact be a blessing in disguise--she'd obviously seen the Joker on television before (everyone in Gotham had), and this was obviously him.
Now, for her own safety as much as for the plan, Selina did something that she never normally would have, ducking into the restroom and hurriedly producing a costume from her somewhat oversized, stylish purse. When they came to this part, they'd find not Selina, but Catwoman.

The Joker, meanwhile, continued to prance about various individuals at random, shoving at some and kicking at others. Several of his remaining companions repeated his actions with much more brutal force. "Just look at your rules now!" the Joker remarked, pursing his scarlet lips. "What good do they serve you?"
"They're s-still in place--justice will p-prevail," a man spoke tremblingly out of turn. An irritated Joker wheeled, and situating one hand behind his back, furtively removed a knife from within his coat sleeve.
He tilted his head towards the speaker. "What was that?"

Hastily stowing her bag, Catwoman had been listening, and watching to some extent, from the hall. Hearing what was going on now, she rolled her eyes--why was it that someone always insisted on being the example in these kinds of situations? At the very few times when she'd had to deal with multiple civilians, it had been the same.
She pondered stepping in, but decided against it. It would hardly put her on good terms with the person she was supposed to be (for the moment) teaming up with. You did want to be on good terms, especially when they were lunatics.

((Lol, lunatic may be an understatement.))
"I-I said that t-the police would come and s-s-stop you," the man returned, and what remained of his confidence swiftly drained away as the Joker approached, step by step. Apparently, he thought this statement amusing and began to laugh.
"Stop me!" he exclaimed, choking on a sudden fit of giggles. "What good are the police against an unstoppable force?" The Joker bent forward, abruptly sober, and gestured wildly at himself. "This city...belongs...to me."

((To say the least.))
What an idiot. Does he really think that's going to mean anything? It was almost depressing, and Catwoman shook her head in disapproval. She did, however, eventually, think it was the right moment to make her entrance. After all, she did have a sense for the dramatic.
A few moments later, keeping the thugs in her peripheral vision, she emerged from the hall in full costumed glory. "Speaking of which," she said smoothly, "there are a few of us who want to talk about teamwork..."

The Joker tore his gaze from the fear-filled eyes of the man before him to the general direction from where the tranquil voice originated. "Well...hello there," he stated, brushing back a few of his grungy locks as he began to make his way towards the costumed figure.
"What's this you say about teamwork, hmm?"

One good thing about living around costumed combatants (some might call them "heroes and villains", but she wasn't that naive): nobody looked at you twice for dressing up yourself. Seeing that she'd caught the Joker's attention, Catwoman smiled, her own smile that she preferred to call "enigmatic". Being a slinky dominatrix outfit no doubt didn't hurt. "And a very good morning to you.
I mean that I've spoken with a certain someone who's interested in a little arrangement that would no doubt benefit all of us. It concerns us...and our winged, night-stalking friend."

The Joker's brows shot up, his attention now thoroughly aroused, and grasping still a knife in one hand, he absentmindedly drew circular paths on its blade with the other's fingers. "The Bat?" he questioned, his tongue tracing a slow path along his lower lip. Certainly, if this little arrangement concerned the Caped Crusader himself, the Joker would naturally want to be part of the action.
"Explain."

((Yeah, Easter. Sorry.))
If Selina hadn't gotten the general idea when she'd seen him on television before, this would certainly have convinced her of how psychotic the Joker really was. It wasn't even anything he was doing, exactly; it was just the general aura around him. Still, she'd dealt with psychos before, in the bedroom, and was quite confident she could handle him. Thus, she nodded knowingly at his rhetorical question.
"From what I've learned, the Bat is in love with a certain lady by the name of Lois Lane. He's weak--got a soft spot for love. It seems that if Ms. Lane were removed from the picture..." She idly cracked her whip behind her, letting the implication sink in slightly, though it was obvious. "He'd be crippled mentally. Unable to carry on, and all that. Easy prey, in other words."

((No problem.))
"...Lois..." the Joker tried out on his tongue and pursed his crimson lips. Curiously, the name rang a certain bell in his mind, a bell of jail cells and unwritten articles and Superman. "Lois...Lane."
And it was then that he realized. He gave a terribly great burst of laughter and bounced up and down in place where he stood, his eyes widening in utter excitement. "Lois and the Batman--sitting in a tree! It gets better and better!"

Oh, Catwoman knew of Lois Lane and her associations; she'd covered Superman before, even in some of the classy magazines Selina read. She waited, apparently casually, for a reaction from the Joker, falling into a physical tic of wiping her face with her hand like a cat's paw.
At the actual reaction, though she was startled for a moment, Catwoman smirked, nodding. This was going just as planned. "Oh, I know! I would not have figured him for her type," she chuckled.

"Well, then, my feline friend," he began, enunciating with unnecessary force the last word. "Count...me...in." The task offered an endless promise of pure, exhilarating entertainment. And he would ensure that the privilege of pushing Lois Lane to the breaking point and the privilege of unmasking Batman would be his. And his alone.
"Care to remind me of who else is involved in this little arrangement of ours?"

It was vaguely unnerving to hear herself referred to as such by him, but once again her face didn't betray any negative emotion--a trick that had served her well over the years. Her lips curled up in a somewhat nasty smile of her own (hey, nobody ever called Catwoman nice), and she purred lightly. This could turn out for her distinct advantage, not only as she was almost guaranteed a much easier haul each time she went, but it had been bugging her ever since she saw him; who was Batman?
"Wonderful," she replied, coiling her whip about her arm. "Poison Ivy set up this meeting...I'll talk to her as well."

This concept of an arrangement did irritate the Joker some, for he had always been one to work alone--else, he would hire some unknowns and take them out when the job was successfully executed, as with this present task of bank-robbing. He supposed that he could endure a bit of company if it meant getting to Batman with more speed and force. But he caught himself questioning the purpose of such haste; things were always so much more engaging when they were dragged out.
"Good," the Joker muttered with a nod. He distractedly ran a gloved hand through his hair. "Poison Ivy--is she anything like you? And when, exactly, does this...arrangement of ours begin to take effect?"
