"In France? Not entirely...I was born here, but my Grandfather is English, and my step-father is Austrian, so...I grew up in several places."

"That sounds very interesting. Austria is a beautiful country"

"It is," *she said with a small smile.* "But tell me about Peru...what is it like?"

*Dante's eyes mist over slightly* "Oh, Peru is lovely. It's simply gorgeous. I strongly recommend a vacation there. It's impossible to describe. And if you like adventure, Peru is amazing for it. I'll always remember it as my home," he replied, his voice getting slightly softer.

"...adventure?" *Violetta's own voice took on a wistful tone.* "...Oh, I wish..." *she fell silent for a moment. Then, her curiosity got the better of her.* "What kinds of adventures?"

*Dante laughs softly* "Whatever you wish. We have deep lakes, high mountains, deep woods. We have the magic of the Incas everywhere you look. What kind of adventures pique your fantasy?"

"...any kind..." *she said dreamily.* "--as long as no one gets hurt," *she said sharply, remembering the last excitement she'd had--at much too high a price.* "Pain and fear is more of a misadventure, in my opinion."

"Ah yes.," *he replied kindly* "However, given the choice between the experience of pain and nothing, I would choose pain. Pain and death are part of life. To reject them is to reject life itself."

*Violetta frowned, turning her head to somewhat mask her expression.*
"...depends on what's beyond life, then," *she said with a shrug.* "They say there's heaven and hell. But that's assuming there's a choice. Sometimes pain just happens."

*Sensing a bit of hesitance from his visitor, Dante decides to cut short the conversation.*
"I suppose we'll never know for sure what's beyond life." *He responds cheerfully.* "Thank you so much for stopping by, miss. It was lovely speaking with you, Miss Violetta. I suppose I should be on my way. Do you have any recommendations on where I could go next?"

"Oh, it depends on what you're looking for, I suppose..." *said Violetta, standing up.* "There's some nice inns or hotels nearby, if you need some place to stay...and cafes, and the opera house, and the parks. Paris is a wonderful city."

"Thank you once again, miss. It was wonderful meeting you."
*With that, Dante trots off, replacing his book on the shelf and walks away*

**NEW DAY**
László stared up at the edifice of the Paris Public Library, and heaved a sigh. Now that it was time to actually do this, he was getting stagefright. He berated himself--it was silly, to be scared of something that so many people did--and yet, he couldn't shake off the butterflies.

John adjusted his jacket and patted Laszlo on the back "Come on."
He opened the door and was immediately greeted with a smile from the woman behind the desk "Johnathan!" She almost yelled and came out from behind the desk to hug him "Darling you haven't been around in weeks, what haave you been doing?"
"This and that, been busy with shelter stuff and Marie and her school."
"Ohhh yes, that school, you are a lucky man" she smiled and turned to Laszlo "and who's this?"
"This is the man I told you about, Laszlo."
"Oh yes right, right" she ran behind the desk and grabbed an application "honestly the jobs yours my dear, if John says your the bee's knee's then you are. It's just a formality!"

It was almost like a different László confronting this--shy, red-faced, staring at his feet. While talking, he'd glance up quickly before staring back down at his feet again.
"Hi," he said softly.
"Umm...if you say so."
He started to twirl a lock of hair around his finger, a nervous habit that he'd developed ever since his hair had gotten so long. He glanced at the application--it looked like it requested a lot of things, most he didn't have an answer for.
"Uhh..." He glanced at John.
